Chapter Thirty

[The Siphons Confession]

AUTUMN'S POV

The sound of Kai's voice shocked us all.

No one expected him to shout, and from the looks of it, they seemed terrified. Afraid that he would hurt them, although his shouts weren't directed at them. It was directed to Wesley and to me.

Kai's eyes were filled with determination. "Get your hands off of her." He walked over to us while ignoring me in the process. Kai's burning stare never left Wesely's innocent one. I opened my mouth to say something and was cut off. "Chill, dude." Wesely raised his hands in the air to surrender to Kai. "See? There off her..." He mumbled while eyeing Joel from the corner of his eyes for help, but he just stood there with a goofy smile on his lips.

Wesely was on his own.

"Kai, what the hell? Stop scaring my date." I walk in front of Wesely to shield him from Kai which earns me a snort. "Your date has ten seconds to undate you." He breathed out, and the butterflies inside my stomach made me feel sick from the thrill of this situation.

He's doing it. He's actually fighting for me.

Collecting myself, I continued to question the siphon, hoping that what was running through my head was true and that he was indeed letting go and being honest with himself.

"And why exactly would he do that? You don't own me, so you have no say in who I-"

Kai cut me off with eager eyes. "Because you're mine!" He paused for a beat making my throat close and my eyes wide. "You're mine and only mine, got that? You can't just go around and be with someone else, not after everything we've been through." He says, with no control over himself.

And everyone just watched, making this whole scene so awkward for me. They're all nosy. It's insane, but I mean, Kai did make a dramatic entrance.

"I see. I'm yours but are you mine, or is this all just one sided to you?" I can't believe I was fighting him, but all that anger I have been feeling for the last four months due to Kai's mixed singles is radiating from me. And in a way, I felt hurt. I mean, after everything, can you blame me?

I step closer to Kai, standing right under his perfect nose. "Are you mine?" I uttered. Kai looked down at me, his eyes locking with my own and filled with passion and curiosity. "You think I would be standing here if I wasn't yours?" He gave me an odd look trying to figure out why I even said that in the first place because it was apparent enough at this point.

My heart was beating a million miles per second. He casually said he was mine-this must be a dream. This can't be real.

My throat closed up, and my mouth felt dry, I couldn't muster a single word, and thankfully I didn't have to. Kai noticed the pure shock in my eyes and felt comfort in them as he seemed to calm down. "I didn't expect you to go on a date with that fool, no offense." He turns to the blonde.
