[My Pain]
AUTUMN'S POV
Three weeks later
The thunder and lightning flashing through my window made me lose sleep, not to mention the leaking I was dealing with in my living room.
March season is one of storms which I love but not like this.
Sitting leg opened on my living room floor, I pushed the bowl of water out of the way and placed a new one over the leak. Getting up, I took the full bowl to the sink and poured the water down the drain with a yawn coming from my lips.
I could barely keep my eyes open, but I refused to let my apartment flood with water while I'm asleep. That would be just another problem I don't want to deal with.
Dragging my feet back to the living room, I sat on the couch and tried to focus on the tv that played random shows while I waited for the storm to clear.
I grab a pillow and hug it, staring at the screen until a loud thunder strikes making all my lights, including the TV, to turn off.
"Just what I needed. . ." I mumbled to myself and threw my pillow aside, rushing over to the window to take a look at the rain, which was terrible.
My street will flood for sure at this rate.
Shutting the curtains, I turned around and walked over to my lamp and tried to turn it on, but it didn't work. Welp, it didn't hurt to try. . .and from the looks of it, I won't sleep for the night.
There goes my job interview.
Oh, did I not tell you? I have a job interview at a tiny bookstore within walking distance from my apartment. Literally way better than being a waitress, so I really want this job. It's a big upgrade for me and pays more than my previous job.
And lord knows I need this money to survive. So, letting the storm win is not an option for me.
I bit my lip and pressed my hands together while pacing around the room, focusing on the dripping sound as it hit the bowl in hopes it would help me figure out a solution, and sooner or later, it worked.
Stopping in my tracks, a smile spread across my lips. I rushed to my room to search for the grimoire I stole from the Gemini Coven a few months back.
Okay, I'm no better than Kai for taking it, but was I really going to leave empty-handed? Nope. How the hell will I do spells without one?
Pulling it out from under my bed, I blew the dust off the spell book and rushed to my living room, placing it on the coffee table.
Soon, running to the kitchen and snatching the candles on the countertop, I returned to my coffee table.
I sat on my knees in front of the grimoire and flipped through the pages looking for the perfect spell, and that's when my eyes landed on atmokinesis: a spell that allows a witch to manipulate the weather and control the environment by harnessing the violent aspects of nature.
