The next morning Izumi and I were set to board a ferry back to the Fire Nation, a fight had broken out among two of Izumi's ladies in waiting. I wanted to return home to my bed, to forget this nightmare fuel of a trip. I also missed the bookshelves that laced my bedroom walls, I was always huge on books and my father took that into account.

We had found Lin, late last night. She was sitting at the dock, with a blanket wrapped around her. She wouldn't even look me in the eye, she avoided me the entire night so I just let it go. She was going through a lot and I'd rather not be yelled at by a Beifong. The thought of  one being mad at you was enough to keep you awake at night.

"Y/n, are you packed for in the morning?" My father asked, eyes darting to my bag sitting cautiously against the wooden door frame of Suyin's room. "Of course." I reply, patting my hair down. "I forgot to mention, Bumi has offered to take you to dinner, for your final night." My father smiled, I shook my head. It wasn't uncommon for Bumi to do this, every time one of us visited each other we would treat ourselves to a dinner on the final night. I smiled slightly, remembering the tradition.

"Y/n!" Bumi called as I joined him in the restaurant, I shook my head in amusement as other patrons scowled at him. "Bumi, you're far too loud." I laugh as I sat at his booth. "Sorry, I get excited." He smiled, lifting his menu. "This has been quite the trip." Bumi announced, looking through the menu. "That it has." I reply, nonchalantly; lifting my menu as well. "This is my last trip to republic city for a little while, my parent's are finally letting me join the United Forces." Bumi smiled.

"That's wonderful, I know how much you've been training for this." I smile to him, "you should thank my dad. My mother was against me joining but he finally convinced her." Bumi replied. "Does this mean I can't see my best friend for a while?" I ask, pouting slightly. "Maybe, just know if there's anything going wrong in the Fire Nation, I'm one call away." He smiled, pushing his hair out of his face. "Aye aye, commander Bumi." I giggle, "hey i'm not that far yet!" He shouts, gaining scowls from the fellow patrons. "Maybe I shouldn't have been so loud." He scratches the back of his neck.
