I stood in the middle hall, the one that led in every direction. My older sister on the left and I on the right. My father was placed in the middle, and a red carpet was thrown to the floor. We'd be going on a trip today, to visit the Beifong family. Father was great friends with Toph, she helped put a stop to the one-hundred year war. She was also the first metal-bender, and best earth-bender in recorded history; on top of it all, she was blind. She was an incredible force of nature, one that shouldn't be bothered. Her children were no different, Lin her oldest sitting at the age of six-teen; and Suyin, at ten.

Lin was hotheaded, but gentle at times. She'd been with the avatar's youngest child since they were merely adolescents. She had the shorter hair of the two, and worked hard for her mother to truly show what she was worth.

Suyin was kind, but she was starting to catch her older sister's attitude. Unsurprising from a Beifong. She had dreams for her future, to build a city that nobody could harm her in. She was still a ten year old girl though, and she wouldn't be building anything any time soon.

"Lord Zuko." My father's prized guard bowed, looking to him. "Suki, thank you for helping me transport my children safely." He smiled to her, she nodded before ordering her men to stand before us.

Suki, a strong independent woman with an amazing moral compass. My father's most prized bodyguard and friend. She grew to be a huge influence in my better judgement.

We were lead through the palace walls, down the steps in the front. They seemed to never end, and we had to stop to make sure we wouldn't fall several times. I'd always enjoyed going out for adventures but I hated that I had to be guarded, my father expected me to die at any moment but I was more like Suki. I wanted to experience battle and be the best I can be.

Eventually we made our way through the large skirts of the nation, a boat sat for us to board. Suki bowed to us one last time before disappearing with her men, possibly to get supper as the sun would be going down soon anyway.

The ship was large, as it was for the royal family. Three bedrooms were set up for us all, one for my father, my sister, and I. Of course the crew had their own nests down at the bottom of the ship. I was ready to get some kind of food into my stomach, whether it be my hand or actual roasted meat.

"Supper will be ready in a few moments, your highness's." A crew mate bowed, before sprinting back to the kitchens. "We'd better get settled in, this boat is nothing like Appa and can't go nearly as fast. It should take us about a week to get to republic city." My father smiled, ducking into the room set up for him. I followed his orders, peeling off my cloak and placing it on my bed. I could see from the sun peaking through my window, that it'd be night soon. I flopped backwards, imagining life itself.

I was exhausted and hungry, the fire nation was a very big place and it took a toll on my body.
