❀Maeve's POV❀

❀ . I feel the warmth of the sun spilling in from the windows hitting my skin. I smile softly as my eyes flutter open. I've always loved the morning sun.

I rub the sleep out of my eyes and stretch only to feel an arm draped around my waist.

I snap my gaze to River, who's sound asleep beside me. Taking in her face, I feel a warmth spread through me.

Rivers lips were slightly parted, her breath steady. A few strands of black hair lay out of place against her cheek.
The sun fell gently against her fair skin.

I smile to myself and gently caress her cheek, moving the hair out of the way.

After the camping trip we crashed in my room since we were so exhausted.
She could have went to her room considering it's right there, I think she just wanted to sleep with me.

I laugh softly and creep out of bed and take a shower.

"Maeve I have to pee!" I hear River grumble in her morning voice.

I laugh at her, "Im almost done hold your horses!"

She groans making me laugh even more.

I hear a click of the lock and then the door opening.

"Did you just-"

River laughs at me from behind the shower curtain. "Yeah, I had to pee."

I roll my eyes at her even though she can't see me.

A few minutes later the toilet flushes and I hear the sink going.

"Ya know.. your shower curtain is pretty see-through."

My face burns red in embarrassment as I hear River laughing at me before leaving the bathroom.

That bitch.

It's a little past lunchtime now, River and I have gone our separate ways.

I sigh and stretch my back before getting back to my work.

I hear River on the phone with someone through the thin walls, I can't make out what's she's saying besides the fact that she sounded heavily aggravated.

I try to quit ease dropping and continue my work until my ears peak in recognition from hearing my name.

My eyebrows furrow and I leave my desk, moving closer to the door.

"Yes, mother, I know. No I haven't." I hear River muttering.

So she's talking to her mother.

Why was I mentioned? Her mother hates me and my family.

Once I hear her hang up the phone I move away from my door and look at the clock.

It's my day to prepare dinner for the dorm so I make my way down the creaky stairs and into the kitchen area.

I turn around to see River smiling while making a cup of tea.

"What's got you so giddy?" I laugh at her happiness.

"Nothing nothing, it's just entertaining watching you cook."

I titter at her and turn around continuing what I was doing.

I groan at the carrot I'm attempting to chop, why is it so stiff?

I hear River laugh and come up behind me, so close I can feel her warm breath on my neck.
