☾Maeve's Pov☽
☾. Today is our last day staying at Rivers house. We're leaving around 7:00pm so I decided to start packing while River and her mother were talking in the hallway.
The door was half-opened so I could see what was going on, I couldn't quite make out what they were saying. They were a little farther down in the hallway.
River seemed super tense though, her hands swinging about which was something she always did when she was aggravated. I couldn't see her facial expressions since her back was facing me. Her mother on the other hand was calm and seemed to be explaining something.
River suddenly turns sharply and quickly enters the room, slamming the door behind her.
I look at her confused and open my mouth to speak only to be interrupted by her sharp glare.
Oh? uh okay then?
She walks into her bathroom, proceeding to slam that door as well.
I sigh while zipping up my suitcase.
"Rivs?" I say softly knocking on the door deciding I should try to comfort her. No reply.
"Come on talk to me." I groan feeling a bit frustrated. I hate when she bottles up her feelings, it always ends in her exploding and acting out of anger and frustration.
I hear the shower start and roll my eyes. I sit there for a minute then an idea pops into my mind.
I smile to myself and take the small Bobby pin from my hair and begin to pick the lock.
After the a few soft clicks it unlocks causing me to smile in victory. Thank you Girl Scouts!
I open the door and look over to the shower. Through the curtains you could see the blurry outline of River.
She must not have heard me come in.
I try my best to hold in my laugh as I quickly strip from my clothes, planning to join her in the shower.
I slowly slip into the shower behind her. Her head was down, eyes closed as the water ran down her face dripping off the ends of her dark hair.
The dark mass of hair seemed to be pouring down the creases of her back. Her muscles were tense, breathing slightly ragged.
I smile at how effortlessly pretty everything about her is, and slip my arms around her waist, giggling softly hearing her gasp in surprise.
"I-..you? Uhh what are you doing?" River stutters, the tips of her ears turning bright red.
"You seemed upset." I shrug, placing gentle kisses to her back and shoulders.
I feel her tense body relax under my touch, boosting my serotonin levels.
"Do you want me to wash your hair?" I ask her softly.
She nods glancing back at me. I take notice of how flushed her cheeks are.
I smile and grab the lavender shampoo, squirting some into my palm.
I begin to massage it into her roots, massaging her scalp. Many happy sighs left Rivers lips.
"Rinse." I smile at her and she looks at me shyly, realizing she'd have to turn around making her front face mine.
"I'll turn around if you'd like." I add wanting her to feel comfortable.
"No it's okay." She smiles, her face still flushed.
My eyes widen when she turns around. I give her body a quick glance then focus on her eyes.
Holy shi-
"Do you want me to wash your hair as well?" She asks while smiling.
I hum in response, trying to keep my eyes trained to her face and not at the soap running down the front of her body.
I clear my throat and hand her the soap, turning so that my back was facing her.

"Are you ladies all ready?" Rivers mother asks, her gaze intense.
I muster up a smile and nod my head, "Thanks for letting me stay."
"Oh no worries darling, you were a wonderful guest."
Her eyes felt like they were looking deep into my soul.
I smile at her as River walks up next to me dragging her suitcase.
"The driver should be here any moment." Her mother adds quickly before walking away.
I notice River silently mocking her mother causing me to choke on a laugh and lightly smack her arm.
The diver pulls up, exiting the car ready to grab our bags.
The drive to the school was very silent considering River passed out five minutes in.
I lean my temple against the cool window, watching the world speed by as we drove.
It was raining now, small droplets racing down the windows.
Out of boredom, I look for things that stand out to me.
Roads.
Roads.
Weird piece of wood sticking up from the dirt.
A few minutes later, a rusty gas station.
And...you'd never guess!!...More roads.
I quickly grow bored because Rivers house was literally in the middle of nowhere.
I sigh and close my eyes, of course there's no service out here.

A bang to the head awoke me from my light sleep. I groan and adjust my eyes. I must of hit my head on the window.
We were parked in front of the school, the diver waited with the door open.
I nudge River gently, waking her up.
"Thank you for the ride." I say as I slide out of the vehicle. The driver just nods blankly and gets back into his seat.
Strange.
River groggily picks up her bags and begins walking into the school.
I puff out a laugh and follow behind her.
Now in my dorm, River drops her bag and immediately strips from her jeans and sweater and cuddles into my bed.
I laugh at her, "Shouldn't you eat before going to bed?"
She groans and throws a pillow at me.
I'll take that as a 'no'.
I quickly change into some comfy shorts and a tank top and climb into bed with River.
"Do you want cuddles?" I ask softly.
She nods to which I smile and quickly cuddle into her.
We both quickly fall into a deep slumber.
