♡︎Maeve's POV♡︎
♡︎. River and I were in our separate rooms packing for our small get away.
To say I'm nervous is an understatement. I really hope they resolve this completely uncalled for hatred towards me. Hell, we've only talked a few times.
We were staying for three days but I packed a bit extra because you never know what could happen.
Placing in my last item, I zip my suitcase and plop onto my bed, peering over at the clock. I spent about an hour packing.
Wanting to cure my sudden boredom, I make my way over to Rivers room not bothering to knock. Apparently I didn't learn my lesson last time.
She was sitting on her knees struggling to zip up her suitcase. Her posture hunched as her dark hair fell in front of her eyes.
She groaned, pushing her hair back. The strap to her tank top was sliding off of her shoulder.
"Need help?" I breathe trying my hardest to conceal my laugh.
She rolls her eyes at me as her cheeks redden in embarrassment. "Clearly."
I laugh at her and take the zipper into my hands, roughly closing her suitcase. I smile at her proudly causing her to laugh as well.

We wait outside on the entrance stairs for Rivers parents to arrive. The weather was nice today, just slightly chilly from the breeze.
I was soon surprised as a limo driven by an old guy pulled up. I looked over at River confused but she seemed as if this was normal to her.
I shrugged it off and slid into the limo after her, thanking the driver who took our bags, placing them in the trunk.
River slid in next to me intertwining our hands as if she sensed my growing anxiety.
"It'll be okay, I promise."
I nod at her and focus out the window while gently caressing her hand with my thumb.

It was about an hour drive before we arrived to tall black entrance gates.
I look in awe as I see the huge castle like house ahead of us. I mean, I knew they were wealthy but this was excessive.
The gates open slowly and the driver pulls into the driveway leading up to the house. The exterior of the house was pale colored with pillars and green vines decorating certain areas making it look a bit old. Still incredibly beautiful.
The limo comes to a halt and we exit the vehicle hand in hand.
I squeeze Rivers hand nervously and she places a reassuring kiss to my forehead.
I let out a shaky breath as we are greeted by two elderly women. Most likely cleaners. They take our bags with bright smiles and signal for us to go in. I mutter a small thank you to them.
Upon entering, I glance around taking in my surroundings. I notice a protection sigil on the wall across from us, though it looked a bit odd compared to the ones I've seen. Almost too quickly, my gaze was interrupted by a woman who seemed to be around her mid 30s.
