ꨄMaeve's POVꨄ

ꨄ. It's a little later in the evening now. Me and River are on her huge bed, her head resting on my stomach facing away from me as she watches tv. I was watching the television as well, running my fingers through her black silky hair.

Rivers phone pings causing her to groan and roll off of me, reaching for her phone.
"It's my mother, she said dinners ready."

I smile happily since I'm veryyy hungry. River hops off the bed, me following after her and we leave the room.

As we are walking down the long hallway, I notice a weirdly small door at the very end. I wonder what that's for?

Shrugging off the peak of curiosity, I focus ahead of me.

We finally make it to her dining room and sit next to each other in the wooden fancy chairs

"So uh what are we doing?" I ask her, wondering when we are going to grab our dinner.

"Waiting to be served." She shrugged adjusting her necklace around her neck.

I look at her confused, scrunching my eyebrows in the process. I open my mouth to speak only to be interrupted by the butlers.

First they set a plate of food in-front of River, then they make their way over to me setting mine down.

"Thank you so much." I smile at him. The butlers face lightens up as if he hasn't heard that in a while. "You're welcome dear."

I look over at River, watching as she begins to eat her food seeming disinterested.

"That was kinda rude ya know?" I say pointing out the fact that she didn't show any gratitude.

"What?" She asked seeming genuinely confused.

"They served you food and you didn't say thank you? That's quite rude rivs." I add on, keeping my tone soft so she didn't think I was mad at her.

She just looks down seeming a bit ashamed in herself. "Well, idk I'm used to this and my mother she- idk I'm sorry."

I scrunch my eyebrows at the strange response, "No worries I just wanted to point it out."

River sends me a soft smile and continues to eat her food.

A comfortable silence surrounds us and I take the time to study the room. At the very front entrance there's a ram head that looks very realistic.

It's quite creepy to be honest. I tear my eyes away from the weird animal head and eye the chandelier.

The candles seemed to have infused herbs inside. That's pretty cool. My eyes then shifted to the wooden chair across from me.

I hadn't noticed before but there's a few more of the "protection" sigils carved into them that are similar to the one I saw at the entrance.

Cute decor is the conclusion I've come to, ignoring the weird feeling in the pit of my stomach.

It's nearly 9:00pm now and I haven't seen nor heard River's mother since earlier. I mean it is a big house so she could just be somewhere relaxing.

"I'm bored." I groan to River and she laughs at me. "We could go swimming? We have an indoor pool."

My mouth widens in shock and I nod excitedly causing River to laugh more.

"I'll grab you a swimsuit." She says to which I nod.
I'd assume we're around the same size.

She comes back with a black bikini that's a little too revealing for my liking. "I don't know about this rivs."
