♡︎Maeve's POV♡︎I was sat at the island having a cup of coffee like every other morning.
I smile as I hear keys jingling, River was home from work. She walks through the door, her face looking sort of blank and tired.
She must have had a bad day.
I rush over to her and wrap my arms around her neck in a tight hug. She wraps her arms around me just as tightly, laying her head in the crook of my neck. Her back was slightly bent since she was a bit taller than me.
"I missed you." She mumbles out, her breath tickling my skin.
"I missed you too baby." I respond softly feeling her smile against the skin of my neck.
She pulls back and places a small kiss to my forehead. "I'm starving."
"Me too." I laugh walking to the fridge. "We could have uhm...salad?"
River laughs and nods. "A salad sounds alright."

Sitting on the couch, I flipped through things to watch on Netflix. Ever since lunch, River has been moody so I decided to give her some space.
I groan at not being able to find anything to watch.
Finally getting up, I slide on my slippers and walk to our bedroom."Rivs?" I call out as I push the door open. She was sat on the bed, her hands clutched into fists under her thighs.
That was never a good thing.
"Are you okay?" I say softly, gently sitting next to her.
She doesn't respond for a second, when she does, it is only a shrug of her shoulders.
I reach out to touch her only to flinch away when she quickly pulled her hand from under her thigh and towards me.My eyes widened in shock. I hastily scoot away, more towards the end of the bed and look down at my fingers.
I don't know what to do.
I feel my eyes start to blur with tears, I don't know why I'm so sensitive.
She almost hit me.
A tear slides down my cheek as I abruptly stand up and leave the room, slamming the door harder than intended.
I wish she would just talk to me. I hate her being upset.
I sit on the couch, curling my knees up to my chest, then lay my head on top of them.
She almost hit me?
I feel my heart ache slightly in my chest as my body shakes with the soft sobs leaving my lips.
Maybe she was getting tired of me? What if-what if she regrets risking her life to save me?
The sound of our bedroom door opening causes me to immediately cut off my sobs-holding my body tighter.
"Maeve.." River calls out, her voice wavering slightly.
I don't answer. Maybe I was just being over dramatic and sensitive? Yet, the whole situation scared me.
I feel the couch dip beside me, her soft smell filling my nose.
