Chapter 2: An explanation and the new recruit

In The Dining Room Of The Bunker There's A Heavy Atmosphere...

Jade told me... She told me everything that had happened while I was in the cryo pod...

Y/N: "So then. Does that mean I'm the only one alive? Am I alone?"

I was distraught, who wouldn't be depressed if they heard their entire species was wiped out in just a day and a half from the wave and then suddenly waking up after 12,000 years. I never really thought that the water was affecting the whole world until Jade told me about what happened.

(A.I)Jade: "Before your family put you in the cryo chamber, before any of this happened, your father had noticed that war was approaching but was too late to notify his superiors. In the end, the massive increase in the oceans water levels was made by an unknown enemy that had sent nuclear warheads to the polar ice caps, rapidly melting the ice."

Y/N: I never knew that the reason why everything happened was because of war. But still...

Why only one pod? Why?

Y/N: "After noticing the ocean levels rising, my Dad decided to make this bunker and the cryo pod. Right?"

Jade: "Yes, it was only after finding out what was happening that he rushed back to his home to create the plans of this bunker and the cryo pod. But... Your father was not the only one that knew what was happening. Your entire family knew..."

Y/N: "... ... ... Wh-What? So. So then they all knew?" I didn't know that my entire family knew what they were doing. If so, then how did I not notice anything out of the ordinary from my brother or sister?

Jade: I saw the look on Y/N face. I knew that he was wondering why he didn't find out at all.

"I can tell what you're thinking. Since your brother and sister were the best at your highschool, they were allowed to see what your father did and what his work was, since they were going to be working with him after graduation of course."

Y/N: Jade gave me an explanation on why I never found out, I always knew that they were smart, but never did I think that they would be working with Dad right after graduating, mainly because Dad's work was top secret within the government. But, I still had one more question to ask.

"Jade, why. Why did my family make only one cryo pod? Did something happen?"

Jade: I knew that this was going to be on his mind, I might as well tell him the truth.

"The reason why there was only one pod was because of the way the pod was created."

Y/N: "created? How so?"

Jade: "The ice used inside of the cryo pod was ice created by your family's own energy, they used their energy to created extremely cold ice that could be used to preserve life. But, they had exhausted all their energy into creating the ice and they did not have enough time to not even make half the amount of ice for another pod. So, they decided that if there was anyone that they would all sacrifice themselves to protect, it would be you. They chose you to survive for them."
