With the arrival of the N.S.S, the odds of surviving were now in Y/N's favor.
With a crack and the ceiling giving way, a group of familiar faces appeared...
"Topaz!"
"Y/N!" Topaz hollered.
"The New Squidbeak Splatoon is back in action!" Marie added.
"Marie! Everyone, you're all here!" I exclaimed as I realized that everyone I'd met was now here.
But with my mind preoccupied with my friends, Aoki took advantage and attacked, sending beams of fire at me.
As the fire grew closer, Topaz sped up and blocked the attack with a stone wall.
"Not again!" Topaz said.
"We're not losing you again Y/N!" Marie shouted as she raised her Hero Charger, though it seemed different from before.
Marie aimed and fired off a charged ink shot, landing it on Aoki's chest.
It seems stronger than before and looks different. Did they get new weapons?
Aoki stood back as she placed a hand on her chest, after all, their ink still hurts, while I don't know if it's enough to kill a human, it's strong enough to knock us down with quite a few shots, perhaps even knock us unconscious, or worse with some more shots.
"This isn't fair!" Aoki complained.
"What's wrong, thought you were stronger?!" Topaz taunted.
Topaz was understanding English though Jade must've given them a translator like mine, not telling them the origin of the language.
"Don't think so lightly of me!" Aoki shouted, somehow also translating Inkling.
When did they learn how to understand Inkling?
I chalked it up to perhaps a device similar to mine that Xavier or CDR. Tartar gave to them. But it didn't matter if whether or not they could understand or even speak with the others.
"They're not, they're just pointing out the obvious."
Aoki quickly turned around as she heard your voice from behind.
Unable to block, she sunk into the ground as you kicked her, knocking her unconscious.
"It's over, Aoki."
I took my foot off and picked her up from the ground, restraining her and taking her weapons away.
"She won't be going anywhere for some time n-."
Marie interrupted you as she wrapped her arms around you, pulling you in for a hug.
Though only for a few seconds, it felt like hours, you wished it lasted that long as well.
