(Quick update, I needed clarification about blood for current and future chapters and finally decided to give inklings and octolings red blood. apparently hemocyanin (blue) is more efficient for water-based life while hemoglobin, (our blood), is more efficient for picking up oxygen in the air (land-based life). I won't go back and change any mistakes this causes as this story is imperfect, and I want it that way to remind myself that I'm still learning.)

"Sometimes we lose ourselves to the abyss, but even in a void of darkness, a single light can shine and brighten all, illuminating the way to freedom, peace, victory, hope."

At the base of a mountain range close by, away from any city or any civilization...

A battle between beings of a dead and ancient kind was about to happen, a battle on a scale never before seen...

As everyone looked on with shock, the sounds of laughter echoed throughout the area...

Xavier: "HAHAHAHA- HAHAHA~!! GO ON Y/N! SHOW ME, SHOW ME JUST HOW HUMAN YOU TRULY ARE!!" He shouted, a grin growing on his face as his eyes widened in excitement.

Giving no reaction, you disappeared as a stinging pain hit Xavier from behind.

Unable to react, Xavier flew forward, hitting the tress that littered the base of the mountains.

"You think absorbing all that Energy is going to be enough to take me down?! You think you have the power to get revenge?!" He shouted as he recovered to his feet.

"That's enough out of you." You said from behind.

Once again, you blitzed Xavier as you struck his back, a loud boom following from the impact.

Slowing his speed, Xavier straightened his body as he planted his feet into the ground, coming to a stop soon after.

This bastard, he's a lot faster than before, and his hits are a lot harder as well... Hahaha~, then all the more reason to go a little further... I can feel it, I'm almost there... But so is he..!

I turned around in time and caught Y/N, grabbing his right arm and stabbing his side before twisting the blade.

"How'd that feel huh?!"

Your eyes sharpened before using your left hand to punch Xavier's side.
As Xavier flew back, he fired a barrage of Energy bolts, smiling as they exploded.

I managed to stop myself again, landing on the side of one of the mountains.

That should slow him down some...

Taking the opportunity, Xavier looked over his side, noticing the spot you hit him turning purple quickly.

That bastard, bruising me this quickly... He has power but no control, it'll end in my victory. I just need to-

As Xavier talked to himself, he sensed you jumping out from the cloud of dust, your fist infused with Energy.

Quickly putting up his sword, Xavier blocked the attack as the impact flowed through, destroying the area behind him.
