Everything has been smooth sailing for me. And time really went by quick for me. I had graduated from high school and now I'm attending university. Chan and I met up a lot when I go to the company to work. I had officially started working at JYP after I graduated from high school. But I wasn't making music exclusively for them. I could still make songs for other artists. I was just signed under them. The year passed by quickly. And just before winter started, tragedy struck our family. Well, it was actually my cousin who got hurt. She got into an accident just as she was on her way home from work. She was brought to the hospital and there was no one who could look after her and her twins. As soon as we heard about the accident, eomma and appa filed for a leave from school and immediately got on a plane to Sydney where Yu Na eonnie lived with her twins.
I was really worried about eonnie and her kids. She had been raising them on her own since they don't have an appa. I couldn't rest well at all because I was so worried. A few days after eomma and appa headed to Sydney, we received news that eonnie had passed away. So they immediately had to set up meetings with the embassy about bringing the twins back with them since eonnie had no other family except for us. And she had told her lawyer that if anything were to happen to her, her twins Soo Hyun and Woo Hyun will be sent to us. It was a good thing that the twins were born here and not in Australia. It only took eomma and appa a week to process everything. They were also bringing eonnie's ashes back here. I was heartbroken about what happened. But I was glad that eomma and appa can go home soon.
A problem arrived when the twins didn't want to leave with them. So I had to take an early leave from school so that I could fly over to help them. As soon as I was able to get a leave from school and from work, I got on a plane and headed to Sydney. When I arrived at the house, the children ran to me and welcomed me like they had known me their whole life. I suddenly remembered how people used to mistake Yu Na eonnie as my sister because we looked a lot like each other. I spent a week there with them and slowly told them that we needed to get on a plane going somewhere and live there. To my surprise, they were willing to come with me. I felt relieved when they wanted to come home with me willingly.
On our last night at their house, the kids and I went to a nearby park to play there and to let them say good bye to their friends. The kids and I were playing when a couple approached us. The kids seemed to know them and they seemed really nice. They were talking to the kids in English and the kids happily told them that they were leaving. As I stared at them, they seemed familiar for some reason. Then they came to talk to me.
"Are you Yu Na's sister?" asked the lady.
"No, I'm her cousin." I replied in English.
"Can we invite you and the kids to our home for a bit? It's near here and we just wanted to give something to the kids as a good bye. And I'm really sorry about Yu Na."
"Okay." I said. I held the kids hands and then we followed the couple to their house and was surprised that it was right in front of eonnie's house.
We went inside and then sat in the living room. The twins were running around in the living room as if they had been there before. I looked around the room and I found the place nice and relaxing. The nice lady then served us some juice which the kids drank immediately. While the ajjushi was getting something, I talked to the lady about how I was liking my stay in Australia and how it was a shame that I had to leave soon. Then I suddenly noticed a picture on the shelf. I thought that I saw someone familiar and asked if I could take a look. After getting permission, I got up and looked at the picture. To my surprise, it was Chan's picture. I didn't know why it was there so I knew I had to ask.
