Ever been reading a story and gotten up to a line or conversation that sounds vaguely familiar?
Ever felt like you're experiencing déjà vu by reading a certain book?
You're probably wondering where you've heard that line before. Who was it that said that sentence? Which two people were having almost this exact conversation?
The answer, ladies, gentlemen and armadillos, is EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE.
When the things people say in a Wattpad book are the same things that are said in almost every stereotypical movie/book that currently exists.
Like, don't make me go all Natalia Kills on you.
Here are a few examples of things or ideas that have been said, or slightly reworded, in a lot of books:
"I'm/you're not like other guys/girls."
"It's not you, it's me."
"You're the only one who can save us."
"Harry had chocolate curls." (Talk about cannibalism.)
"Zayn looked at me with his caramel eyes." (There it is again.)
And on that note, it seems that the girl in fanfics is always hungry. Why else would she describe body parts with food words?
Always talking about people having 'chocolate hair' and such. No wonder she's so thin (even though she seems to think she's fat).
Just once I'd like to read a fanfiction where Harry has brown hair, and Zayn has hazel eyes.
Or golden eyes. I've read a few of them, and I guess that works. Any James Bond fans around here?
Anyway, the control-C and control-V keys were designed for homework, not story writing.
Don't lie. At least once in your life, when you've been told to write things in your own words for school work, you've just copied and pasted stuff.
I know I have. Trust me-you're not alone.
And yes, I know, people don't literally copy and paste stuff from another well known story.
It's a metaphor. Um, I think. Or maybe a hyperbole.
