I'm still a little confused by stories where the girl is the sister of a member of 1D/5SOS/O2L, and then she falls in love with another member.

Like, I know you can't help your feelings for someone, but that's a bit weird.

And often whichever member her brother is acts really protective of her, and keeps saying he doesn't want them to be together and he rages at the other member because OH MY GOD HE TOUCHED HER.

I didn't mean it like that. Get your mind out of the gutter.

Like, you know those situations where you meet someone, and they'll start talking about their cousin's sister's mum's friend's uncle's daughter's cat's armadillo's friend, who just so happens to be your best friend, and then it's really cool because it's like you've known this person for ages through your mutual friend?

Yeah. This is like that, but it's not cool.

Like I said, I know that she can't help having feelings for someone, but that's just really awkward, because her brother will be like, "Hey guys, this is my sister," and one of the other members will be like, "She's hot."

My brother has a hot friend, but that doesn't mean I'm going to date him.

He's also quite a lot older than me, and he probably has a girlfriend.

OH MY GOD IF MY BROTHER READS THIS I WILL HIDE IN THE CORNER AND CRY

So as you can see, this probably wouldn't work, regardless of age (not even going to bother referencing Age difference for the billionth time).

Not to mention in most fanfics like this, all/most of the members live together.

Which is already true about O2L, but yeah.

So whenever the guy wants to go to his girlfriend's house, his best friend's going to be there.

And whenever the girl wants to go to her boyfriend's house, her brother's going to be there.

Add in the overprotective brother who doesn't want his sister to speak to boys and you have a relationship that will never get anywhere.

Except in private.

I meant they have a secret relationship, and if anyone asks, they're "just friends".

"Hey girl, is this your boyfriend?"

"No, he's just my brother's hot friend."

"Hey man, is this your girlfriend?"

"No, she's just my friend's hot sister."
