That escalated quickly

When the first chapter of a fanfic is all like:

"OMG LUKE HEMMINGS GAVE ME HIS NUMBER AND I HAVEN'T EVEN MET HIM"

Like, I'd be surprised if a guy ever gave me his number.

They haven't even met!

And they always try to cover up how stupid that fact is by saying that the girl is a YouTuber and Luke/Calum/Michael/Ashton/any other celebrity guy has been watching her videos for ages, and really likes her.

The YouTuber idea is fine, but that just doesn't work.

I've been watching O2L for a while. Do you expect me to just give Ricky my number?

Of course not, he's 22.

What, who said that?

*ahem*

So.

Relationships don't escalate that fast.

And yes, I know, it's called a fanFICTION, but the least you could do is make it ever so slightly realistic.

Ever so slightly.

That's all you need.

Right?

Left.

Either that or they come up with some crazy scenario that ends in some random chick (she's not even famous) meeting and falling in love with a member of 5SOS, or One Direction, or O2L.

Lucky chick.

Like what, you're gonna go to a One Direction concert, and out of 459734698724598 people there, your favourite member is going to see YOU?

And then fall in love with you?

And give you his number?

I don't think so.

That's why I like fanfics like IUN or Refill, where the characters have the same name/appearance as the celeb, but they're not famous or anything.

Then you don't have to work out how they're gonna meet.

OH MY GOD DID SHE JUST SAY SHE LIKES HER OWN FANFIC

Yes. Yes, I did.

What cha gonna do about it?
