This is a full stop. Use it wisely.

I don't know about you guys, but it's one of my biggest pet peeves when dialogue is written like this:

"Hey how are you"

"I'm pretty good what about you"

"I'm alright"

Do you even know what punctuation is.

Not to mention, who is it that's talking?

You never say the name of the person.

Is it Kylie?

Is it Jc?

Is it Shaniqua?

Is it Deandra the new girl?

We may never know.

(Deandra is bae. All the MPGIS fans say HEYYYYYYYYY)

So yeah.

Always write names in dialogue scenes, and never forget the full stop.

Or the period.

Not that anyone would want their period.

It's nasty, guys.

JESUS WHAT EVEN let's get back to the point.

But seriously, seeing sentences written like this:

"You were supposed to be watching the door"

Annoys me so much.

It's like one of those moments when you see something that's only partly coloured in, and you want to colour the rest of it in.

Or an OCD moment similar to that.

Like, what makes you think a sentence like that looks right?

Have you ever read a book with sentences that look like that?

Because the last time I checked, The Fault in our Stars wasn't written like this:

"Okay"

"Okay"

How much more boring and less emotional did that look?

Punctuation can change everything.

Also tell us who's talking.

And then maybe I'll read your story.

Thanks.
