"The Quell"

After the victor party, Melissa and Finnick decided to stay in the Capitol, until the Quell announcement.

President Snow was on the television. Melissa was sitting next to Finnick, Mabel on his lap. Melissa and Finnick's hands interlocked.

Snow stated that, the reaped will be in the existing victor pools. Meaning Finnick and Melissa had a chance to go back. Mabel was due to stay with Snow during that period anyway so, if Melissa went back Mabel would go with her.

Melissa and Finnick stayed strong in front of Mabel, tears silently streaming down their faces.

"Mommy what does that mean?" Mabel asked, looking at her mother.

"It means mommy is going back to the games sweetheart." Mel said back.

"Against daddy." Mae asked.

"Yes, baby girl." Finnick said.

Melissa went back to District 2, a day before the reaping.
