The Memory- Mayday Parade
Elsie-
-1 month later-
It's been a month since I last saw my love, Jack. I'm a girl possessed. My appetite has lessened, I keep reading the same book again, and I rarely show up to school. Anna moved to London shortly after I was admitted into the hospital with Kristoff and she seems happier than ever. Father stayed with me after Samuel vanished with Jack and has been taking care of me ever since. He talks about moving back to Moscow with Anna and I but I told him that we're happy in London. He eventually agreed on letting us stay in London and recently bought an apartment in the city. Only Anna still doesn't know that he's alive. Auntie and Uncle have seemed to put the past behind them and are now happier than ever. Punzie and Eugene try everything in their power to get me to go out with them but I refuse. Nothing will ever be the same now that Jack is gone. Jack. If only there was something I could have done to save him. If only we hadn't gone to look for his father. If only, if only. They say the land of "If Only" is very dangerous to a person's mind.
But what did I care now that the only reason for living is gone? I looked down at my worn out copy of The Fault In Our Stars and at the highlighted sentence, Pain demands to be felt, and took a deep breath. Pain did indeed need to be felt, but did it have to hurt this bad? I put the book down and got up to walk to my desk. I opened one of the drawers and took out a box. Inside the box was a necklace that was given to me by Cordelia.
-Flashback-
"Remember Elsa. The necklace shows you what your deepest thoughts are. Take it out and put it on. From there it'll show you what you truly wish to see." she said as she handed me the box.
"But what if it doesn't work?" I asked as I hesitated in grabbing the box.
"It will. I promise." she smiled and I took the box from her hands. I looked up at her and smiled before she vanished.
-End Of Flashback-
I held the necklace in my hand and I felt a tear go down my cheek. I quickly wiped it away and put the necklace on. Immediately it showed me a person hiding in the shadows. A car passed and the headlights flashed across his face. Blue eyes. White hair. Watching my house. This house. He's here. In London. He's here. I quickly took off the necklace, ran out of my room, down the stairs and out the door. I stopped and looked around. Nothing. I dropped to my knees and looked at the necklace still in my hands. A tear landed in my hands and then another. How could I have thought he would be here? Surely it was a trick of the mind. The necklace didn't work after all. I got up and slowly walked back to the house. The wind was picking up and there was a light drizzle starting to come down. Elsie. I heard it but I couldn't bring myself to turn around. If I did, I'd be looking at nothing. My heart couldn't take it anymore. I walked inside the house and closed the door.
It was too much.......
Punzie-
"I'm worried about her. She hasn't been the same since Jack left." I said as I took a sip of my coffee. Eugene, Merida, Hiccup, Anna, Kristoff and I were at The Attendant Café hanging out. Each one of us were worried about Elsie and what happened back in Tromso. Anna told us that Jack had left Elsie in a hospital nearly unconcious and he didn't stay to see how she was. No goodbye or explanation. Just left.
"Punzie yer not the only one. We're all worried about the wee lass. We have to do something to get her out of that depression she's in." Merida said as she looked up from the game of thumb war she and Hiccup were playing. They were an odd couple, but they were perfect for each other. I nodded and Anna perked up.
"I know!" she said, "How about we tell her that there's a big sale on black dresses and then take her to the school's music room? She's always been really good at playing the piano. Maybe that's what she needs right now." We all agreed and spent the next hour planning.
Elsie Snowdon was going to let out her emotions through a song and I had just the song for that.....
Jack-
Why didn't she turn around? She heard me. Her hesitation at the door told me so. I stepped out a little into the afternoon sun and called her again. She still didn't turn around. Instead she opened the door and walked inside. I took the chance and used my preternatural speed and in no time I was inside the house. The weeks spent with Samuel were tortuous. I refused to drink from a human and survived on the blood of rodents. I didn't want to be like him. Living in the dark and feeding off of women whom I slept with. That was his lifestyle, not mine. Every women he met had a friend who was meant for me. Instead of seducing them and taking them to bed, I sent them home. He was angry. He kept reminding me that if I didn't do what he did, he'd find Elsie and slowly torture her until I caved in. I kept refusing and telling him that I wouldn't succumb to his ways and eventually, he relented.
About a week ago, he took me to St. Petersburg, where an ancient Vampire hunted. Wesley Adams was around 8,000 years old and said to have witnessed the crucifying of Jesus Christ. He was also around when the beginnings of civilization had started. Samuel begged him to give me a pint of his blood so that I may walk about in the sun and able to finish school. Wesley didn't want to at first but he took me aside and asked me what the real reason was. I told him that I wanted to live my life with my love. My Snowflake. His eyes softened and he took a knife from his pocket and grabbed a small flask. He cut open his wrist and let the blood drip into the flask. Once full, he gave me the flask and urged me to drink. I did. Wesley smiled when I was finished and said, "Idi syna. Pereyti poluchit' yeye." Go get her son. Go get her.
And here I am. In the house of the girl I love. I had gone back to school, expecting her to be there but she wasn't. She rarely went to school and when she did, she skipped the few classes we had together. I stayed hidden as I watched her climb the stairs to her bedroom. She looked so depressed and I couldn't help but feel responsible for that. It was my fault that we had become seperated. I promised her that nothing would seperate us and I broke that promise. She opened her door and again I slipped in, unseen and quietly. She walked in and closed the door and sat on her window seat. I could see tears running down her cheeks as she looked at the world going on in the streets below. I slowly stepped out from the shadows and walked silently to her. Within reach of her, I said her name softly, "Elsie, my love." She looked up and gasped.
"Jack?"
