What did I do? How could they just treat me like that? No one understood me, not even my own sister, Anna. The situation got worse the longer I stayed. When everyone was asleep I packed my things and walked to the train station. I had no idea where I was headed but I knew I had to get away. Fast.
As I waited for the train I saw someone approaching from the corner of my eye. My nanny Esther.
"Miss Elsa, where do you think you're going at this hour?" she asked with a hint of annoyance. Esther has been with our family since my mother was a child. My mother tried to do the exact same thing I'm doing right now. She managed to convince my mother to stay but Mother was never in my situation. She wasn't called a monster. She was simply running away from a wrong marriage.
"What does it look like I'm doing Esther? I have to get away from here and there's nothing you could say or do to make me stay." I said not giving Esther so much as a glance. Esther stayed quiet for a while and when she finally spoke her voice was filled with sadness.
"I understand Elsie. But if you're going then at least go to London and stay with you're Aunt Primrose. She will take good care of you." I turned to look at her and she gave me a small smile. I put down the bag I was carrying and gave her a hug.
"Thank you Esther. I'll miss you and please don't tell Anna anything about where I am and what I'm doing please. It'd break her heart even more than it will after she finds out I ran away." The thought of Anna locking herself up in her room for months or worse, years broke my heart but I'm doing this for her own safety.
"I promise deary. Take care of yourself and be safe." She said as she pulled away from the hug. I felt bad leaving her and Anna. Esther is like my mother and she always will be. The train came and Esther gave me a ticket to London, England. I boarded the train and sat in the back next to the window. I took out my phone and texted my cousin Rapunzel or Punzie.
Me: Hey Punzie. I'm gonna be staying with you and Auntie Primrose for a while.
Punzie: OMG!!! Can't wait! What time do you get here?
Me: In about two days.
Punzie: Kk! I'll tell my mom. Text me when you get here.
Me: Ok.
After that I turned off my phone and fell asleep thinking about Anna and Esther and London.
