Mavis-

I was putting the finishing touches on my makeup when I heard a knock at the door. He's early. I thought as I put down my eyeliner and got up to open the door. Before I did so, I checked myself in the full-length mirror and fixed the hem of my skirt that I got when I went shopping yesterday. I chose a white strapless halter top with a polka dotted black skirt. I paired it off with black heeled boots and a black leather jacket.

Satisfied with the way I looked, I opened the door. "Well you're a little ear-" The words died on my mouth as soon as I saw who it was. Justin. The guy who I fell in love with and the guy who I had wanted to share eternity with. Now I think that the feelings I once had for him were fading. He smiled at me before letting his eyes run over my body.

"What are you doing here Justin?" I asked, snapping his attention back to my eyes. He smiled and said, "I didn't get a chance to see you yesterday. I wanted to get you something special." He held a perfectly wrapped box with a bow on top towards me and I hesitated to grab it. "Come on take it. It's a belated birthday gift. It won't bite you." He said and smirked at his cleverly placed pun.

I took the box and said, "Thanks, is that all?" I winced slightly at the harshness of my voice. I knew I shouldn't treat him this way but I was still hurt from the day before. I put the present on the table next to the door. I looked at him and he seemed to be thinking about something. It had never felt so awkward before and I didn't know what to say. It was just my luck when Hans appeared beside Justin.

"Hey Mavis. You ready to go?" I looked at Justin and Hans turned to see him. He was a little bit taller than him so he had to look down a bit. "Oh, I'm sorry. You're busy. Should I meet you by the elevator then?" His brown eyes showed a bit of concern and I took my chance.

"No actually, we were done." I turned to Justin and said, "Thank you for the present and for stopping by." Justin nodded and he seemed to be struggling with something. He walked away down the hall and turned the corner, but I already knew he was gone. Preternatural speed has it's perks. I grabbed my purse and closed the door behind me. Hans held his arm out for me to take and I looped my arm through his.

"You look beautiful by the way." He leaned down to whisper in my ear. I smiled at him and pressed the call button on the elevator. "You look great too." I said. Wearing a navy blue button down shirt with the sleeves rolled up past his forearms, black trousers and black dress shoes, he looked very handsome. He smiled at me and put his hand on my lower back as he guided me into the elevator. He pressed the lobby button and the doors closed. We stood in comfortable silence occasionally glancing at each other and looking away.

The doors opened to the lobby only to reveal Justin. I groaned and he smiled at me. Hans noticed my obvious annoyance and stepped in front of me. "Can I help you with anything Jenkins?" He asked, obviously getting his name wrong to spite him.

Justin glared at him before answering, "No Harry, I'm just here to pick up my girlfriend. Looks like I have my work cut out, thank you for bringing her down for me Harry." He said and made an attempt to grab my arm. Hans blocked him and sneered. I sighed and rolled my eyes. "Justin this is getting old. We are done. I told you the night before that I couldn't just jump back into our relationship." I stepped from behind Hans and stood next to him.

"But Mavi, we have history. You can't just throw that away for some guy you just met." Justin said. I scoffed and I could hear Hans chuckle a bit. Weird. I crossed my arms over my chest and said, "Actually, yes, I can. It's a new method I call 'moving on'. You should try it sometime. It really helps."

Justin stayed quiet and I grabbed Hans' hand and said, "Now if you'll excuse me. I have a date to enjoy." I tugged Hans' hand and walked around Justin. I felt relieved and it was like a 55 year old weight was being lifted off of my shoulders. Hans moved his hand in mine and laced his fingers around mine. I smiled since I couldn't blush and we continued on our way to the lobby doors.
