The Silence by Mayday Parade
Elsie-
It happened exactly two weeks ago. The day I lost the only man I'll ever truly love. Jack and I managed to convince Anna to come back to London with us and she hit it off well with Kristoff. Jack and I had set about the day after to look for his father, who was last seen at the East Forks Hotel. Jack was extremely nervous because he wasn't sure what his father would be like. We asked the manager if she had seen Samuel Overland and she said that he was staying with a friend on the top floor. We thanked her and walked to the elevators. The elevator took its time getting to the very top floor, which was the 40th floor.
At last, the doors opened and Jack and I stepped out and began to search for room 4010. We stopped when we saw that it was the only room on that floor. Jack grabbed my hand and we walked to the door at the very end of the hall. The hall was dim, lights flickering now and then. We got to the door and Jack squeezed my hand before lifting his free hand and knocking on the door. The very man I thought was dead opened the door. My father looked the same way he did when he died and that was all it took to convince me to believe the very thing I thought was impossible. My father, Adgar Arendelle, was indeed a Vampire.
He blinked a couple of times as his once brown eyes, now turned pale blue looked at me. His once tan skin was now as pale as the snow and his teeth were now pointy at the corners. I couldn't believe it. Another man peeked out and Jack tensed up. By his actions, I knew that this man was Samuel Overland. The man who could break the spell. My father cleared his throat and Mr. Overland smiled at Jack. Before we could utter a word, they both dragged us in the room and closed and locked the door. Samuel watched Jack with an intent gaze and my father moved away from the both of us.
The room was dark and there were glasses that were filled with what I hoped was red wine on the coffee table. The drapes were closed and only bits of sunlight came through.
"Jack, my son. You've gotten so big since I last saw you." Samuel gave him an evil smile and I knew something bad was going to happen. Once I knew my father was a Vampire, there was no doubting that Samuel was one too. "And you've brought your lovely girlfriend. Even better!" He spread his arms wide and Jack pushed me behind him. I gripped his back and quietly made an icicle. Samuel stepped forward and Jack raised his hand. "I wouldn't come near if I were you, Samuel." He said. Samuel winced and said, "Ouch, that hurts son."
"Don't call me son. My name is Jack Frost. And you have no right to talk to my girlfriend at all." Jack's voice took on an icy cold tone and Samuel laughed at him. I saw my father move from the corner of my eye and I turned my head to silently plead with him to help us. He looked at me and then to the ground. He then said, "Samuel, just leave my daughter out of this, please." Samuel turned around to face him and he walked towards my father. "I will, once you do what you promised." I was terrified. What did my father promise? Even after 11 years, I still loved him. Always will. So it didn't surprise me when I said, "Daddy, what is he talking about?"
He looked at me and then at Samuel. He sighed and said, "Please don't hate me after this." I was confused and before I realized what had happened, my father had Jack on the ground and Samuel had me pinned on the wall. Jack tried to put up a fight but my father was too strong. I tried to get to him but Samuel kept a tight grip on me. I was panicking and then I remembered my powers. I quickly freezed Samuel's arm and he let go. Once free, I ran to where my father was and took out the icicle I had in my left jacket sleeve. My father had his mouth open, revealing his fangs, and Jack had frost surrounding the ground around him. It was so surreal that I hesitated. My father looked up and froze. His eyes had so much sorrow and I could see regret. Before I could do anything, Samuel had me on the ground next to Jack and he gripped my face. He smiled and said, "This is what you get for trying to run away, girl."
He grabbed my arm and dug his teeth into it. I screamed into his hand and soon he was off of me. My vision was blurry and I could hear Jack's struggles next to me. I turned to look at him but I could barely make him out. I blinked a couple of times until my vision was clear and what I saw was overwhelming. Jack was sucking the blood from my father's wrist and there were two puncture marks in his throat. I knew all too well what my father had done and I could never forgive him. I was hauled up by Samuel and he held my head so I could see what was happening. Tears were in my eyes as my father stood up and took deep breaths. Jack stood up moments after and looked at me. "Jack?" I said as a sob took my voice. "Say goodbye son. This is the last time you'll ever see her again." Samuel said and Jack took his eyes off of me and looked at his father. "What do you mean?" he asked.
"Well now that you're one of us, you won't ever be able to live a normal life with her anymore. You are to live in darkness forever." Samuel said as he pushed me down on the ground. Jack was at my side and before he could say anything, I said what I knew what was going to be the hardest thing I've ever said, "Go." He gave me a confused look and he realized what I meant. "No. I'm not leaving you." I looked at him, tears in my eyes and I put my hand on his cheek. "We'll always have each other okay? No matter what. I love you Jack, always." A tear slid down his cheek as he nodded and then he kissed me one last time before saying, "I love you. Forever." Then we were ripped apart and I was taken to the hospital by my father. I felt empty. The one person I would ever love was taken from me.
And I had never felt so empty in my entire life......................
Hey guys! Well that just happened. I sort of had to because I got a whole new plan for what I had originally and I wanted to write this. The song at the beginning is what I was listening to when I got this idea and I suggest you listen to it. I was literally crying when I wrote this and I hope it had the same affect on you.
