(In Love With A Boy by Kaya Stewart)

Mavis-

"So what brings you here to London?" I asked as I forked up a piece of rare sirloin steak. Hans and I were at Clos Maggiore, one of the most romantic restaurants in London. I was having a good time and we had so many things in common. For example, he liked alternative rock more than anything else and so did I. He loved the horror film It and I absolutely adored that film. For some reason it felt like we had known each other for a long time.

Hans cleared his throat before answering me. "I came here for a girl, the love of my life I thought, but all that changed. Now the reason I came here is different." He looked at me and I looked down. I looked back up and he smiled. I smiled back and he raised an eyebrow at me.

"What brings you here to London?" He asked as he picked his glass of water. I looked down and began to think of the right words. When I looked back up, he was watching with concern and wonder in his eyes.

"Well I lived in New York for a while. But I had to get away." I thought that was good enough of an explanation but it wasn't enough for him. "Get away from what?" He asked. I sighed and said, "Away from all the memories. You see, my younger brother died when he was twelve from Leukemia, my mother died of natural causes and my best friend died in a brutal car crash. And Justin-" I had to stop before the tears came and betrayed me. Hans grabbed my hand and I tried to control myself. When I opened my mouth after a few minutes, a small sob came out and I closed it again.

Hans called the waiter and told him to bring the check. He paid and we walked out of the restaurant, him with his arm wrapped around my waist and me, hiding my face in his chest. From a different standpoint, it would look like we were cuddling and I thanked Hans for being there. We walked around a bit until I calmed down.

We sat down on a bench and he had his arms wrapped around me. I leaned into him and rested my head on his shoulder. I felt him place a kiss on my forehead and I smiled. Hans couldn't have come at a better time. I let myself look into his mind for the first time since we met and this time I caught glimpses of a girl who sort of resembled me. Wait. That is me. I'm in his thoughts? That was when I heard him say something mentally.

Mavis, you couldn't have come at a better time for me. I think I'm falling in love with you.

I looked at him and smiled. I couldn't believe he thought that. He was so sweet and kind, not to mention handsome, and he thinks he's falling in love with me. Maybe..... Don't be silly Mavis. It's too soon to tell what the future holds for you two. A voice said and I knew it was right. I couldn't be sure Hans and I would work out. So why was I so anxious to share my eternal life with him? There was time.

"If you don't mind Hans, I'd like to go back to the hotel now. I'm very tired and need to rest." I told him. I was extremely tired, then again I am 74 years old. "Of course, I understand Mavis. It has been a long day and quite the night. Come on, I'll take you back." Hans stood up and held out his hand for me to take. I got up and took his hand, lacing my fingers in his and we slowly walked back to the hotel.

We got to the hotel and into the elevator. He pressed the button for the 24th floor and I stood in his arms as he pressed a kiss to my head. The elevator doors opened and we walked out. As we rounded the corner, I saw Justin sitting on the floor next to my room. I turned to Hans and asked, "Can I stay with you tonight?" He smiled and nodded. We turned back and walked down the other end of the hall and he got out his key. He unlocked the door and let me enter.

"Make yourself comfortable. You can have the bed and I'll sleep on the couch." He said as he closed the door and turned on the lights. The bed was a king sized one and I wondered if I should say something. I bit my lip and turned to face him. "Will you sleep with me?" He seemed a little taken aback by my question and I realized why. The question sounded wrong.
