"Jack watch out!" Elsie screamed as an oncoming truck sped towards the group. Before Jack could quickly move out of the way, the car turned and the truck slammed against the back side of the Cadillac. Using his speed, he grabbed Elsie and used his body as a shield against the force. There was screams and the sound of metal crunching together but Jack didn't let go of Elsie. The car was spinning out of control and finally stopped a few feet away from the crash site. The rain being heard on the metal roof.

Jack lifted his head and looked around. The entire car on the driver's side was crushed. Anna shook in her seat as she held on tightly to the seat belt. Elsie shook in Jack's arms and held tightly onto his chest but Kat, Kat was nowhere to be seen. He tried to see as far as the crushed part of the windshield would let him but couldn't see anything.

"Are you girls okay?" He asked reaching down to lift Elsie's chin to see her face. Anna nodded her head and unbuckled the seat belt. Elsie had fear written all over her face but she nodded. Jack opened her door and helped her climb out. Anna had to climb over the seat since her door was pressed up against a light pole. Once they were out, Anna and Elsie hugged each other and asked each other questions. Jack began looking around for Kat and saw that the truck driver was hanging out of the windshield, blood dripping down the hood of the car.

There was another body a few feet away from the truck and Jack's heart stopped cold. Without saying anything, he ran to Kat's still body and checked for a pulse. Nothing. Her body lay in an unnatural position, blood pooling around her from an unknown area. Her blood washing away with the rain that was coming down hard. Jack screamed for help and Elsie covered her mouth with her hands, silently crying. Anna had called the police and the ambulance and was calling her aunt and uncle. Jack was holding onto Kat's lifeless body, crying and rocking her back and forth, not caring that her blood was staining his clothes.

The ambulance arrived along with the police and Jack was ripped from his sister as she was carefully placed into a body bag and carried into an ambulance. Elsie had tried to move but she was standing frozen to the spot. In the eyes of the paramedics, she would be seen as tramautized from the car accident, but she was mourning. She fell to her knees and wept, rain pouring down and blending her tears with it. Jack could be heard in the background, protesting and pleading to be with his sister. Anna crouched by her sister, consoling her while watching Jack trying to push past the police officers holding him back.

The ambulance that carried the bodies of both the truck driver's and Kat's sped off in the direction of the morgue, while paramedics checked Elsie and Anna for injuries and Jack was on his knees, shoulders slumped in defeat and mourning. Elsie, finally gaining her composure, pushed past the paramedic that was checking her and walked over silently to Jack. She touched his shoulder and went on her knees beside Jack. He looked at her for a minute before pulling her into a tight hug and silently crying.

She couldn't understand how he felt. She had lost her mother but she wasn't close to her. Jack felt empty, almost, but he knew that Kat was in a better place. So why did he want her alive and here with them? She was so young and vibrant, and she had a whole life ahead of her. He clutched onto the only person left that felt real in a world that was now dead to him. They stayed like that, rain pounding down hard on them, silently mourning the loss of the vibrant young Kat who had filled their lives with such color.

Primrose and Collin were trying to push past the paramedics, worried about their neices and Anna had gone over to them to try and calm them down. Punzie and Eugene looked at Elsie and Jack with sorrow all while the couple promised each other that they would never leave each other.

"Jack?" Elsie said as she looked up at the distraught man in front of her. He looked down at her and she said, "Something's wrong." He held her tightly and worried that she might dissappear if he let her go.

"What is it, Elsie?" He asked and she looked down, her hand moving as well and coming up covered in blood. She looked back up at him with sad and scared eyes and before he could move, she fainted. He held her, calling for help and seeing where she was bleeding out of.

He couldn't believe that this was happening to him. He lost his sister and now he might lose the love of his life. He wouldn't be able to survive if she did. He'd have no other reason to continue on with his immortal life. He'd just be an empty shell. Paramedics rushed over and put Elsie carefully on a gurney and into an ambulance. Jack fought to be with her and one of the paramedics gave up and let him in the truck with them.

They worked as fast as they could to try and stop the bleeding, but nothing was working. Jack held tightly onto her hand and begged her to fight for her life. The paramedics did all they could to stop the bleeding and by the time they got to the hospital, Elsie was down to her last few drops of blood. They rushed her to the E.R., but it wouldnt do any good. The heart meter beeped slower and slower as Elsie's life force was fading away. Jack begged and pleaded before he remembered that he was no longer human. He had an advantage over these paramedics. As quickly as he could, he bit Elsie's wrist and made a little cut in his. Dropping his blood in her open vein, he closed the wound and waited.

She lay still and her breathing became slower and slower until the heart meter stopped beeping. The flat line noise was unbearable for Jack and he quickly walked out of the room. It should have worked. But little did he know, it did. But combined with her witch powers, the venom had to fight it's way into her bloodstream and get to her heart. Doctors ran inside the room past Jack when they heard the heart meter beep again. They couldn't believe that after all the blood she had lost, she was able to recuperate.

To them it was a miracle, to Jack, it was keeping his other half alive by giving her eternity.......
