Chapter 9- True Feelings: Part 2

Jack-

Elsie is my other half. We talked about everything and it was never awkward. The times we didn't talk we fell into a comfortable silence. She's so different from other girls. There's something about her that I can't figure out, but it makes her interesting in a mysterious way.

I watched as she and my little sister, Kathleen, or Kat for short laugh and get along really well. My mom still hadn't shown up so I excused myself and went to go search for her. I figured she was still in her office so I headed upstairs. I walked down the hall and stopped at her office door. Let me tell you a little about my mom.

My mom's name is Rachel Adeline Overland-Frost. She's a petite woman with blonde silvery hair (not platinum blonde like Elsa's) She's very pale like Kat and I and she's 5'2" with pale green eyes. She's the CEO of Frost Enterprises so you could say we're rich. She's a single mother raising two teenagers. One who's eighteen and graduating this year (me) and another who's sixteen and in her second year in high school (Kat). My father left her for a blonde bimbo when I was ten and Kat was seven so we pretty much hate him. She hasn't cried over him once, not even when he left. She's a very strong woman and I love that about her.

I knocked on the door and waited. No reply. I opened the door and peeked inside. She was at her desk looking at some papers. She looked very busy so I closed the door and went back downstairs. I entered the living room and Kat came to me.

"Jack! Jack! Look at what Elsie did to my hair! Do you like it?" She asked, her violet eyes looking at me with eagerness. I looked at her hair and saw a braid running from the top of her head and going around to make it seem like a headband. The rest of her light brown hair was put in a french braid. She looked so much like our father. Her hair, her nose, her smile, and her personality. The only thing she inherited from our mother was her beauty and flawless skin. Her violet eyes were a rarity amongst the family and the community. No one knows how she got them.

"You look beautiful Kat." I smiled at her and then looked at Elsie who was smiling at her achievement. I knew from experience that my sisters' hair was difficult to style, but she managed to tame and style it. I sat down next to Elsie and put my arm around her shoulders. She leaned on me and Kat smiled like crazy.

"So are you guys like boyfriend/girlfriend?" She asked jumping a little in her seat. I looked over at Elsie the same time she looked at me and we both knew that we hadn't even been on a date yet. Elsie laughed and looked over at Kat.

"We haven't even been on a date yet Kat. So how can we be boyfriend/girlfriend?" She said as she poked me in the ribs. I smiled and leaned in and playfully nuzzled her neck. She giggled and playfully shoved me.

"Well from the looks of it, you guys act like you are." Kat had a point. Although we hadn't had our first date we acted like a couple. I guess that's just how you act when you're in love. At least I think Elsie's in love with me.

Is she?

Elsie-

Kat had a very good point. Does Jack love me? Or is he just playing with me? Ugh. I don't know, but what I do know is that Jack is my other half. Maybe he can even cure my changes. Oh right you don't know about that. Let me explain.

When I was born, my hair was red and so were my eyes. My parents didn't understand what it was so they took me to the trolls. Grand Pabbie said that I was born with a power very dangerous to people around me. If I didn't learn to control it then I could cause harm to people I care about. That this dark power could eventually take over me and I would lose myself.

My parents didn't want that so they hired a very powerful witch called the Supreme in her world to help me control my power. By then my red hair and eyes turned platinum blonde and icy blue. It worked until one day my anger towards the doctor that was supposed to take care of my mother let her die. My hair and eyes turned back to red and with one look at the doctor he had fallen off a cliff.

When I changed back to normal, I realized what I did. I locked myself in my room and tried to control it. The Supreme told me that I shouldn't let myself get angry or I will change and hurt people. So I did. Until I got angry again because a man had raped my sister. That man ended up in a horrible car crash where his car had been crushed and he died on impact.

I knew then that I had to get away. People started realizing that when others died a horrible death it was because they had been in contact with me. They started calling me a monster and I had to go. The Supreme told me that there was something else that would come along. Another power that could overcome the curse, as I like to call it, and that I would no longer hurt people.

I didn't understand what she meant but I told her that I would be careful. I packed my things and well, you know the rest. I need to find a cure. Maybe Jack can help. Or maybe it's that new power the Supreme was talking about. Whatever it is. Jack nudged me and I realized I had gotten lost in my thoughts.

"I'm sorry. What were you saying?" I say looking at him and Kat. Kat looked at Jack and I faced him.

"Well I was suggesting that you and I take a walk. You know get some fresh air. I can even take you to the London Eye." He said nervously. Wait, is he asking me out on a date? Now?

"Are you asking me out on a date?" I asked calmly.

"Yeah. I am." He said scratching the back of his neck. I giggled and nodded.

"Yeah that sounds like fun." He smiled and got up. I got up and hugged Kat and told her it was nice meeting her. She returned the hug and said the same thing.

"Don't wait up okay Kat." Jack said to her. Kat nodded and Jack led me to the front door.

We walked around and Jack bought me a box of chocolates. My favorite. After that we went to the London Eye. While I waited for Jack to buy the tickets, I noticed someone very familiar. She turned around and I saw that it was the Supreme. She smiled at me and waved. Then she vanished. I wondered what she was doing there. Then it hit me.
----Flashback-----
"Remember Elsa. No matter where you are I will watch over you." She said while I was packing up my things.
"Yes Supreme Cordelia." I turned around to face her and she hugged me.
"You were always like a daughter to me Elsa. You gave me something I could never have and I thank you for that." I hugged her back and then it was time for me to go.
"Be safe my child." She said and vanished.
----End of Flashback----

I shook my head and turned just in time to see Jack walking towards me with the tickets and a smile. I smiled at him and he grabbed my hand and led me towards the ferris wheel. We got in and the gondolas moved up. The view was amazing. I leaned on Jack's shoulder and enjoyed the view. He put his arm on my waist and rested his head on top of mine. It was perfect.

----time skip----

Jack and I walked along the street. The cherry blossom trees silently dropped their pink leaves on us as we walked hand in hand. This day was perfect and I didn't want it to end. Jack is an amazing guy and he is the best thing that ever happened to me. He stopped and so did I.

"What's wrong Jack?" I asked. He pulled me closer and kissed me. Softly but passionately. We pulled away and Jack looked at me putting his forehead against mine.

"I love you Elsie Snowdon." He said. My eyes felt watery as they filled with tears. I cupped his cheek and gave him a light peck.

"I love you too Jack Frost." He smiled and we kissed underneath the cherry blossom trees as the soft wind wrapped around us.

It was the perfect ending to the perfect day.....
