He saw the invitation. He had returned back to the states

"So, are you going to go?" His best friend asked him

They've known each other since they were in grade 7.

"I don't see a reason why I should go"
"Yeah just because you broke his sister's heart"
"I didn't mean to and you know this so stop rubbing it in my face"

Dylan said to his best friend. Gabriel has been part of his life since he could remember

"So why then do you stalk her on social media? You keep collecting her number from Brie and you never text her. You ghost her time line on Instagram and twitter even Facebook for heaven's sales"
"I'm just checking up on her"
"Tell yourself that crap, not me"
"I'm just making sure she's fine really"
"Obviously. she's one of the best journalist in town. She is doing just fine and you my dear friend, are not. You cant move on from her and that's just the truth so yes you're going for that wedding even if it is just to see her. You've avoided her for so long, I think it's time you stopped this toxic habit of yours and man up. Who the hell even still loves his highschool sweetheart for pete's sakes?"
"Gab, I think you're losing it!"

Dylan said laughing

"You make me so mad some times. I don't understand you anymore"
"You said it yourself. She is doing well, too well"
"And you're one of the most wanted architects available in the world today. Y'all would have kids and they would be rich as hell"
"That wasn't my point Gab"
"It never is. Anyways I ordered a suit for you"
"You did what?"
"Do I need to repeat myself?"

Dylan looked at him and sighed

"I didn't think so" Gabriel said as he got his jacket on
"And where are you going to?" Dylan asked
"Unlike you, I have a girlfriend who needs me now so I'm going to go have dinner with her and maybe sleep over at her place"
"Sure, have fun".

Dylan said as his best friend slammed the door. It was funny how they've never been able to seperate him from his best friend. They even stayed together now not because they were financially unstable. They were both silly rich. His best friend was a journalist and he was an architect. Both jobs payed well so they built a six bedroom duplex and stayed with each other. Being the only child of rich parents, he had a very solid foundation but he still made his own money. He just wanted to be independent of his parents wealth and he was. He scoffed as he thought of meeting Wanda again. He wasn't sure how she was going to react. It been years since they last saw. Since the day he went off to college. He had broken up with her that day and he saw her cry and beg him not too because she needed him then. Her dad had just kicked her out of the house because she applied for journalism. He boarded the plane and never looked back. He got to Switzerland and changed numbers so she wouldn't reach him. He didn't do it to hurt her. He did it because he wasn't sure if he was coming back to her and he didn't want her hanging on to false hope. He wanted her to move on and become a beautiful woman without him. He figured the fastest way to make her move on was to break her heart and he did just that but there was a down side to it. He couldn't move on. He tried different girls over there but Wanda was not only in his heart but she was stuck in his head too. He found a way to collect her number, found her on Instagram and just kept stalking her. He was literally hooked on her and he didn't want to let her go. One time, a rumor came up on how she was engaged. He remembered drinking so bad he had the worst hangover the next day and he definitely had his share of terrible hang overs. Maybe his best friend was right. He should go to Ken's wedding and see her even if it was the last time he was going to. The wedding was about three weeks away. He could get ready before then and pit on his best of attitudes and try not to break her heart by making excuses when they eventually met

The receptionist called her and told her she had a visitor here to see her. It was Monday for pete's sakes, if it was brie, she was going to send her off and tell her to come another time but it wasn't Brie. Her brother walked through her door. She could almost jump out of her skin. She hadn't seen him in months and he was here now. She hugged him. To her, he was always going to be her dad

"So you did miss me, Helen was definitely not kidding"
"You were gone for months. Obviously. I wanted to drop by your place but work had me all tied"
"That's fine"

She and her brother did a lot catching up

"Something tells me you didn't drive down here just to come say hi to me"
"I actually did. What? I can't come say hi to my little sister?"
"You know what I'm talking about"

Wanda said to her brother

"I actually need a loan"
"From?"
"Just about 500 thousands dollars just to pull through the wedding and all. I know you're not in support of this but I'd give you the money on e I get paid"
"I'm not going to loan you 500 thousand dollars Ken"

She dug her hand into her bag and brought out her cheque book and wrote him a check of a million dollars. she handed it to him

"I'm your sister Ken and you've done so much for me. I would never loan you money and no, don't pay it back"
"it's twice of what I need"
"You were a brother and a best friend at the same time. if anyone is in debt, it has to be me"

He got up and gave her a tight hug

"Thank you"
"You're welcome"
"Lunch, on me?"
"It has always been on you"

She laughed
