"I don't understand why I'm paying you" Her boss yelled at her. "Just make sure my appointments don't clash with each other. Now leave"
She bowed her head and cursed under her breath. She had thought of quitting a couple of times but she couldn't. To an extent she needed this job. It pays the bills, besides, she was just 23 and was earning a six figure salary. She drove a beamer. Stayed in a penthouse. She was more than comfortable. Quitting wasn't an option. She walked out of her boss' office and headed to hers. She closed the door behind her and double tapped the mouse on her laptop which came on. She was trying to find the right words to finish up her article which had to be submitted tomorrow
"Wanda, think"
She said trying to calm her nerves from the previous chat with her boss. Her boss was a really nice guy but today, he was probably in a bad mood. Her phone rang. She looked at it. Helen. Her elder sister was calling. She sighed
"If it's important, she'll call twice"
She said to her self and went back to her article. It rang again and she decided to wait for the third time. It did
ring again and she picked up"Avoiding me little sister?"
"I'm just busy" She said in defense
"You know you're over working yourself"
"I don't have a choice"
"Dad said you weren't picking his calls"
"is that what you called?"
"Why are you avoiding Dad again?"
"I'm not"
"feels like you are"
"I'd give him a call when I'm done at work"
"I was thinking of bringing Tracy and Tristan over for the weekend"She smiled. Her favorite niece and nephew. Well the only one she had anyway. Her sister had gotten married early and had given birth to her favorite twins. She loved them like they were hers
"Sure, it's Thursday. Want me to come pick them up?"
"nah, it's okay. I'd drive them down then maybe we could go see our parents together"
"I'm not sure I'd be available to Helen"
"oh Wanda, come on"
"I'd think about it really"
"Whatever. When last Did you call Kenneth"Ken was their brother m He was older than Wanda but younger than Helen
"Last night"
"still thinking of avoiding his wedding too?"
"yep"
"Wanda, you're a part of this family"
"dad doesn't think so"
"you know he said those things out of anger"
"really Helen? I was 19, what was I going to think?"
"It's been four years Wanda. How long are you going to stay mad at Dad"
"I'm not mad"
"Then go see him"
"I'd think about it. See you tomorrow"She hung up and sighed. She looked at the time. Almost 5. She knew better than to leave the office before five. She counted the seconds as they went bym Once it was 5, she stood up and grabbed her bag and her laptop. She took the elevator down and went to the car park. Got into her car and drove home. She decided to stop by a fast food restaurant in order to avoid cooking dinner. She ordered and drove off

"You think your sister would ever forgive me?"
Ken looked at his soon to be wife. They've been engaged for eight months now and were getting married early next month
"Wanda isn't someone to hold grudges for so long" He replied her. She looked at him
"it's been two weeks, she didn't pick my calls or text back"
"Brielle, I think you should just let her come around on her own. You said a lot to her and we know how much words can get to her"
"Do you think she'll come for the wedding?"
"My own sister wouldn't miss my wedding"
"She's still not cool with her brother marrying her best friend"
"Life happens and she'll have to deal with it"
"Maybe I should go over to her place tomorrow and talk things out with her"
"That's left to you baby but you should let her know that you're coming"
"I will"She said hugging him, wondering if she made the right decision by saying yes to her best friend's brother even though her best friend had disagreed right since when they we're dating. . "I'd see her tomorrow after work" She thought to herself. She let Ken go
