He got a text from her. He smiled. That was the only person that made him smile these days. Dylan wasn't still talking to him or picking up his calls and something told him that Wanda was equally as mad as Dylan was at him. He opened her text
"Hey babe, I just landed in the country. I'm headed home now. I just thought you should know that I'm back. In case you decide to see me"
He smiled. She made that so effortless, smiling. He decided to reply to her text
"Glad you got home safely. I would drop by later during the week or on Saturday. I've resumed work and I really can't take a day off anymore. What do you say? Lunch date on Saturday, bills on me?"
He hit the send button and waited for her reply which he knew would come quickly and it did
"Definitely. I'd text you when I get home"
She said and he replied
"Alright baby"
He tossed the phone across the sofa and went to get something to eat. He came back with a bowl of cereal and he picked up his phone. The doorbell rang. Who could that be? He wasn't expecting anybody, not this late. He opened the door and found Dylan there. He was surprised to see him
"Hey... I didn't know you were coming over. Not that you can't come here, I mean it's both our place"
"I'm here to get my remaining things. I'd be out of here as quickly as I came in"
"Why?"
"Why what?" Dylan asked
"Why are you doing this? You stopped picking up my calls and now you're moving out totally. It makes no sense. I get that you're trying to punish me and pass a message across in the process. I know I said a lot of things that hurt you but I'm sorry Dylan. If you move out totally, I would too, and guess what I'll do. I'd sell the place and deposit every penny into your account"
"Then go ahead. It can't hurt less Gabriel!" Dylan said as he walked ahead to his room.Gabriel grabbed his phone. He was going to talk to the only person that could talk him into staying, Wanda. He dialed her number and she picked up immediately.
"What's up?"
"Dylan is here and he is planning on moving out completely. Now I know you're mad at me and you don't want to talk to me but please, I can't lose my best friend. Not today and not ever. So just talk to him into staying"
"What makes you think he would listen to me?"
"Because he always did and he always will. He's an idiot for you"
"Does that even sound correct to you?"
"I really don't know. Just please"
"Alright. I would call him. Are you home with him?"
"I'm actually about to leave to get dinner"
"Oh okay. I'd give him a call and talk to him. I hope he does stay though"He thanked her and he hung up. Gabriel left the house with the hope that he would meet his best friend when he got back home

He hung up. She sighed. She called Dylan and he wasn't picking up her calls. She decided to grab something to eat and maybe head for the shower before calling him back. She had dinner, got into the shower, and got out. Her phone rang. It was Dylan. He called back
"Wanda, hey, I missed your call. Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I am. Thanks. Where are you?"
"I'm on my way back to the hotel. Why? Do you want me to come over?"
"No, I don't. I wanted you to move back in with Gabriel. He is sorry he said those things to you but you can't stay mad at him forever"
"Did he put you up to this?"
"Maybe. So what if he did? Dy, you've been angry at him for months now and he can't reach out to you so he decided to come through me although I think that is pointless because I can't get through to you, you never listen to me so just listen to me this one time and go back home"
"I can't, not this night and what the hell do you mean by you can get through to me? You're the only one that can get through to me and that is why he came to meet you"
"Just go back home please and fix things up with him"
"Yes ma'am. I would, tomorrow"He said and she hung up. She sighed. What was she going to do with him? He was always on her mind these days. He had tried to avoid her and it never worked. Now, she wasn't sure if talking to him either was helping her. She was willing to give him another shot but she felt like he was keeping something from her, something huge. Probably something he did in his past. He kept that part of himself locked up. He wasn't letting anybody in, not even her. Anytime she brought up his past, he was quick to dismiss it. What had happened to him when he was in college? He never talked about it or when he graduated. All he did was show her pictures and that was all about it. She didn't know anything about that part of his life and she was going to go digging up. She had told him and what he told her was that she would find more than she is looking for but the thing was that she didn't know what she was looking for. He wasn't giving her something to look for so she didn't have an idea what she was looking for. She was cool with whatever she found, or so she thought. She sighed and she covered herself. She clapped her hands and her lights went off. She headed to bed, hoping the next day wasn't going to be as stressful as this one
