It was almost two when the secretary's call came in

"Good afternoon Miss Arnold"
"You can quit being formal Nichole. What's going on?"
"You didn't tell me you had a sister"
"I didn't see the need to"
"She's here though"

Arghhhh, she groaned

"Send her in Nichole. Thanks"

She said hanging up and looking at her ceiling. The knock on her door came in and two heads peeped in. Tracy and Tristan. She smiled as they ran to her. They were both the cuddling type. Tracy climbed up her legs. How old were they now, six maybe. Tracy hugged her tight as Tristan climbed up her laps.

"It's so good to see you guys too. Where's your mama?"

The sentence was barely out of her mouth when her sister came in. Her sister was always the sexy one right from high school, but things did change. She looked at her sister's already big stomach. She put her favorite twins down and got up to greet her sister with a hug

"You didn't tell me you were adding to the family" Wanda teased
"After this, I'm done with making babies"

Wanda laughed

"I could have come pick them up after I was done here. You shouldn't be stressing Helen"
"Oh , don't start again. I wanted to get away from the house and use the opportunity to go see our parents"
"You're still on that?"
"Yes Wanda. I am"

She smiled at Helen. She knew she was going to have to go with her regardless of her decision. Helen wasn't going to let go of the discussion

"So when are you due?"
"Tuesday"
"Tuesday, Helen, what the heck? You want Richard here banging on the door?"
"Richard isn't coming back until evening"
"How did you get here? You're far too gone to be behind a steering wheel"
"I actually ordered a ride here"

Helen sat on a chair. She couldn't wait till Helen was back. Girls night outs with her and the other girls were amazing. She watched her sister's kids fight for the soda on her table. It was a Friday. She closed earlier than normal. She closed by 4

"So how has life been to you?"

Helen asked

"Been good" Wanda nodded
"Seeing anybody?"
"No"
"Why?"
"I'm not interested"
"Because of some dumb dude who went to college broke your heart doesn't mean everybody else will"
"Thanks for calling him dumb but I don't need any man right now. I stay in a penthouse, I drive a BMW and have a range Rover and a Lamborghini truck parked in my garage. I earn approximately 2million dollars monthly. What exactly do I need a man for Helen?"
"Company, Love?"
"My job is giving me both right now"
"How long do you plan on doing this?"
"Doing what Sis?"
"Pushing away the idea of having a man in your life"
"For as long as I can"

Wanda said as her sister shook her head. She was stubborn as ever.

"Brie said you turned down being her maid of honor"
"I did" Wanda replied
"You're still mad at her?"
"I'm not. I just don't want to be her maid of honor"

Helen chuckled

"And what's funny?"
"Nothing"

Helen said still chuckling. Wanda rolled her eyes and packed her laptop

"The wedding is one month away. You should make up your mind"
"I will"

Her telephone rang again. She picked it up

"Wanda's office"
"It's Nichole. You have another visitor. She said her name is Brielle"
"is she here to see me or Beth?"
"You!"
"Send her in"

She sighed

"Who's that?"

Helen asked

"Brie"
"Well, be nice"
"I'd try to"

The door opened and she saw her Best friend standing across. She wanted to hug her and talk about everything like usual but she couldn't

"How can I help you" Wanda asked
"I didn't know Helen was here"

Brie said as she and Helen exchanged pleasantries. She sat down

"now what do you want?" Wanda asked
"I came here so we could talk*
"Talk? about?"
"Everything. I'm sorry I said those stuffs"
"I forgive you but I can't be your maid of honor"
"If you don't do it, who will?"
"I don't know, Beth?"
"I chose you, not Beth"
"And I'm not interested"

Helen interfered

"Wanda, a word?"
"sure!"

She stood up and followed her sister out the door

"Why are you so upset?"
"You're cool with the fact that she's getting married to your brother?
"Who else would you want your brother to be with?"
"anybody else so that when they get divorced, I can always take my brother's side"
"you're waiting for a divorce?"
"I didn't say I was waiting for one"
"Then what are you saying?"
"You'll say I said so"

Wanda walked back into her office

"Fine, I'll be your maid of honor"
"Really?"

Brie said with enthusiasm

"Yes"

Wanda said not as excited as Brie but she had to do it. Brie left for Beths office. Wanda, her sister and her kids headed to their parents house.

"must we go Helen?"
"Wanda, you've not gone to see them in months!"
"He disowned me!"
"And mom?"
"She did nothing to stop him"
"Dad is sorry"
"He didn't call me to tell that to me! He told you to tell me he's sorry. He didn't call me. He didn't text!"
"you keep saying he didn't call you. Did you pick his calls? Wanda for Christ sakes! He's your father"
"He stopped being that for a while"

She said as she drove on. She moved into her parents street and sighed when she saw the house. The last time she looked upon this house was when she was 18. Five years ago. When her Dad pushed her out because she decided not to study medicine. Just because she went for journalism. She pulled up in front of the house and sighed. This was going to be harder than she expected
