"What?" Wanda asked. "Did I overdo it? Should I go back in and change into something simpler?"
"Hell no! You look perfect. Don't you even dare think about changing into something else. Damn sis! Been a while since I saw you this sexy and out with skins. Are you sure you're just going for dinner?" Ken teased

She laughed. She knew her brother was very good with compliments but he was also a fashion critic so if he said that she looked good, then she probably did

"Trust me, it is just dinner. I have no plans of getting back together with Dylan. There is nothing that would make me get back together with him"
"I wouldn't be so sure sis. I wouldn't be so sure. Fate has a way of proving people wrong. I didn't ever think I would end up with my younger sister's ex-best friend but I did. I used to think I would end up with someone on the thick side but I'm getting married to slim and not even slim thick like you are"
"Well, I guess life is really full of surprises"

She said as she grabbed her perfume from her work handbag and applied it to her body. She sniffed her body. She smiled at herself. Damn, she was really over-killing this date. She decided against sweeping her hair to the side to reveal the skin at the back. She went for light make-up, nothing heavy. She wasn't about to go wild. Simple and sassy was a nice way to dress for a nice evening. She smiled at her brother. He smiled back at her

"I love you. You know that right?" Ken said
"I know Ken. You really don't have a choice anyways"

She said back at him. She was about to tell him about Arthur when her phone rang. It was Dylan. She looked at it and rolled her eyes

"Who is that?" Her brother asked
"Dylan"
"Why aren't you picking it up?"
"Because I don't want to. I am going to his house in a few minutes. Why should he call me? Am I a baby? I know my way to his place. I do not need him hitting up my phone"
"You can be very petty most times my dear little sister. You don't know if he is calling to actually cancel the dinner. You should pick up the phone if it rings next time"
"I don't think he would call back. He never calls twice"

Those words were barely out of her mouth when her phone rang again.

"You should listen to me more often. I'll be in the car"

Ken said as he grabbed his keys and headed out. She sighed and she picked up the call

"Yeah, what's up?"
"Yeah, what's up is what you start with? Must I call you twice before you pick up my calls?"
"Yeah! So I would know it's serious because if it's not, you would not call again"
"Good point but what if I was dying?"
"Then you would have called 911, not me"
"I think you should have actually studied law"
"I think so too," she said back to him
"So you still coming over? It is kinda almost five and I thought you would have gotten here by now or left home"
"I am still coming over and no I'm still very much in the comfort of my house. You told me dinner starts at seven"
"And according to the map, your place is about an hour from mine. You should really leave home soon else you would just make dessert"
"What's for dessert?"
"Chocolate cake and ice cream. Your favorite"
"You remembered," she said, surprised
"Of course I do. Were you expecting me not to remember? I remember everything about you, Wanda. What did you expect?"
"I don't know. You could be a dick sometimes"
"I am going to take that as a compliment, thank you"
"You are very much welcome"
"So see you soon?"
"Yeah. See you soon"
"I have to go. Gabriel needs me to do something for him. Safe drive"
"Thanks"

She said as she hung up. She found herself smiling. Damn, what was happening to her? She could be falling for Dylan again. It was impossible according to the rules that bind love. Guess you're wondering what that is. It was a one million dollar book she bought when she was Twenty, two years ago. She wanted to not fall in love and the only way to do that is to know the rules of the game so you don't fall victim when you come across one of the players. The book literally said it was impossible to fall in love with an ex that hurt you. Was that book a total waste of money? What???!! Her head screamed. She spent a million dollars on that book at an auction. What the hell? She said to herself. She heard the car horn from outside. She should probably grab a jacket but she declined against the thoughts although she knew that it could get chilly at night. She went out and locked the doors. She walked down to Ken's car and got in. He drove to Dylan's place. About an hour later, she got there. It was past six already.

"Do you want me to come in with you? Her brother asked
"Nah, I don't think it's necessary. I think I can handle it from here. Thank you for the ride. Call me when you get home will you?"
"I would. You should call me when you are done here and you can't find a ride home. I would come to pick you up as long as it's not midnight"
"Don't bother about that. I would always get a ride. Drive safe will you?"
"I will. Have fun babe"

He said as she got down. He drove off. She walked to the door and rang the doorbell. There seemed to be no reply
