He sighed. He didn't know what to do anymore. Getting married seemed like the only thing he could do now. He has been planning this thing for months now and he wasn't going to just tell her no. There was no way he was going to do that to her. Despite everything she had done, he loved her. He sighed. Would he really have to pick between his wife-to-be and his little sister one day? She sighed and he looked at her

"What?"

He asked. She ignited the engine of her car and pulled out of the compound

"Where are we going?"

He asked again

"To have fun. We would go out and grab an ice cream and cotton candy and okay 3D games till we are tired then we would head out and see a movie and have fun. We would both get out minds off our problems and deal with them later"
"That sounds like a good idea but we are way old to be at Disney land"
"Who said we were going there? I would have even taken Tracy and Tristan there"

She said as she smiled at her brother. She drove for almost an hour before finding a suitable mall that had a gaming arena. After playing cop and convict for an hour, they went for the junks, just like in the old days. She smiled. She had not had this much fun in days. It was evening when they headed back to his place. She dropped him off at his door

"Are you going to talk to her?

Wanda asked

"I would. You?"
"I don't think so. She doesn't have to be my friend anymore. She just has to be your wife. That is all that matters to me, you. I don't have to like her or forgive her. She has done enough damage already"
"Whatever decision you make, she deserves it, my love"

He said as he kissed her on her forehead

"I would call you and let you know how it goes eventually"
"Alright Kenneth"
"Are you going back to Helen's place?"
"Yeah, I'd be there for the week"
"Okay Wanda, drive safely, please. Be safe and text me when you get home"
"You know I'm no longer that kid from preschool right?"
"You would always be that kid from preschool to me"

He said as he smiled at her. Fuck! Her head screamed. Why did he have to be her brother? He was a fine candidate for a husband. He had everything she was looking for. He ticked every box that had her expectations but he was her brother. She figured that no man would love her the way he did. That was family for her she guessed. She drove back to her sister's place. She pulled out her phone as she drove into the compound. Her phone had been on silent throughout the day and she hadn't gone to do her research on Dylan, not that she actually wanted to do it. She was glad that time had flown away and she had been occupied with her brother because if she wasn't, she would have gone to his place not because she actually needed to but because she was dying to see him. She had been, ever since she heard that he was back in the states. She saw a lot of missed calls. Eighteen from her elder sister. Damn! She ought to have called her to tell her that she was heading out with Ken. Gerald also called her. Why though? She wondered. Gabriel called her too. How could she miss that? That might have probably been Dylan. He Maybe wanted to talk to her but she didn't think so. She sighed. She parked her car and went into the house

"I've been calling you! Where have you been? Wanda?"

Her sister said immediately she entered the house

"I am so sorry Helen. I went out with Ken and we lost track of time"
"You went out with Ken? I thought you were going over to fix his marriage"
"Well I was then Brie said a lot of stuff"

She said as she sat down to narrate everything that happened between them

"You know she is wrong right? I love you and Ken loves you so does Richard and mom and dad although he's too proud to admit it"
"Do they?"

Wanda said, already crying

"Yes, my sweetheart. We love you so much. Your existence is very important to us. My life would be ten times worse if you weren't here. You've been here since day one and you're still here. When I was cranky and irritating when I had Tracy and Tristan, you were here. You put them to sleep. You came here yesterday and this morning, I found the whole house in order without having to lift a finger. You are the most irreplaceable person I have. Brie was wrong to have said all those things to you and I'm starting to think that this marriage would be a major disaster too if she is always going to talk this way when she's angry"
"I talked Ken into staying with her"
"Why?"
"Because he does love her Helen and I can't relate to that. I should not be the reason they end their relationship. If they are going to end it, it should be because one of them messed up"
"So the marriage ended?"

Wanda's phone beeped. She looked at it. It was Ken

"She apologized. We are still getting married. Thank you, my love. Hope you're at Helen's already"

She showed the text to her elder sister

"I guess the wedding is back on"

She said as she stood up from the chair. She didn't know whether to be happy for her brother or not but she was damn sure that she already lost her supposed-to-be best friend

"Wanda"

Helen called

"I'm okay. I just need some rest"

She said as she headed up to her room, shoulders drooling.
