She slept off in her sister's room. Richard came in late and slept in another room. She woke up with a text from her brother
"I'm calling the wedding off!"
That was all the text said. She got up and some her sister
"Good morning"
"I have to go. Can you cover things around here till I get back?"
"It's not even eight yet. Where are you going?"
"Our brother is about to call off his wedding and I am going to find out why"
"Calling the wedding off? How? Why would he do something like that?"
"I am going to find out now"She said as she ran into her room and had a quick shower and got into her car and pulled out of her sister's house. She said a silent prayer. She had no idea why her brother would make that decision. Her brother wasn't one to call off something as big as a wedding overnight but he did. This meant that he must have been pushed to the wall. What the hell did Brie do this time? She asked herself, worried. It was funny though. She didn't want them together in the first place and now, she heard that they are calling it off and she was here, driving at almost 180km/h to his place. Why? She asked herself. She couldn't answer but she didn't want them to call the wedding off anymore. She already finished up a house in their name. She was used to the idea of them being together. Her phone rang. She looked at it, Helen. She couldn't pick it. She had disconnected her phone from her ear pods and she had disconnected her phone from her car and was too much in a hurry to connect it back. She slowed down and picked up the call and put it on speaker
"Are you there yet?"
"How can I be there yet? I just left the house"
"I know, I'm sorry. I'm just worried"
"I am too. This is exactly what I was trying to avoid. Now I heard no idea who to support on this case"
"Just hear both of their sides first. I'm on my way"
"No! You need rest. Don't come over. Stay home and take care of Tristan and Tracy. I would handle it, I promise"
"Are you sure you don't want me there?"
"I think I have it under control"
"Make sure they get back together"
"I would try. It's really up to them"She said and her sister sighed and hung up after telling her to drive safe. She pulled up in front of her brother's house an hour later and walked in. She opened the door without knocking. She didn't knock, she just sent in. She couldn't hear them arguing about only what heaven knows what. She walked in on them and screamed
"Can you both shut the hell up?! Don't you have neighbors? Why the hell are you up in each other's throats?!"
"Talk to your best friend!"Kenneth said as he grabbed his keys and left
"I'm not done talking Ken!"
"I am Brie. Keep this up and there'll be no wedding at all"
"Call the damn wedding off!"
"Don't call the wedding off. Nobody is calling the wedding off"
"I'll be outside"Ken said as he walked out of the house. Wanda turned to Brie
"What the hell is wrong with you?"
Wanda asked her Best friend
"Don't even interfere. It is all your fault. I know you don't want the wedding to happen. You don't have to pretend to want it. It's totally pointless to me. You're the reason we keep having arguments. He came home late a few days ago because he was at your place. Every time I ask him to do something for me, he says he's going to be busy doing something for you. I'm starting to wonder if he's getting married to me or you"
"You know, I think you should shut your mouth right about now before you say something that we would both regret again"
"Nah, I think I would say what I want to say. You are the reason we keep having issues. It is all because of you. Stay away from my marriage, Wanda. If you don't want to get married, go ahead. It is your life but stop destroying mine. If you can't get someone to love you, then suffer your misery alone! It's no wonder why your dad pushed you out. You do deserve to be alone"She said before she could catch herself. She regretted everything she just said. She knew that transfer of aggression was one thing that she was good at. Wanda turned and walked out
"Wanda wait. I didn't mean any of it"
Wanda walked out of the house and slammed the door. Ken met her outside.
"Wanda"
He heard most of that, more like all of it. She walked past him. He grabbed her hand and turned her to face him. She was in tears already. He pulled her into a hug and she broke down. That was it. He was calling the wedding off now. Nobody made his sister cry. Not one single person. He wasn't going to allow that.
"I would be back"
"Ken, don't. Just let it slide"
"You're crying. I am not letting it slide"He said as he went into the house
"Babe"
Brie said
"Don't, just pack your things and leave. It's over. I'm done. I can't put up with this anymore"
"Babe, I am sorry. I didn't mean any of the things I said"
"Well you said them anyways and it hurt her. Nobody, not even you is allowed to hurt her. You have zero idea of what she has been through!"
"I do! I am her best friend!"
"Are you? Can you even hear yourself right now? After all, you just said, how can you call yourself her best friend?"He scoffed
"Just be gone before I get back"
He said as he left the house
