—You and giyu got rid of that awkward tension after your 5 day mission which took a lot of work, you got hurt pretty badly but giyu saved you. which you appreciated. that feeling in your stomach grew more and you even felt slightly nervous when you heard giyu was coming over to check on you. shinobu had been teasing you as always. giyu also felt the same way you did except more concerned. he had no one to ask and he even came to the conclusion of asking shinobu,, but he didnt. he questioned himself if he felt romantically for you but 5 seconds after that popped up in his head he shooed it away and scolded him self. sure you were attractive, interesting, fun to be around, and actually cared for tomioka but that didnt mean he liked you, right?
after that one singular thought he would freak out when he saw you but attempt to act as normal as possible, which worked decently well but you still noticed his weirdness. you even noticed him staring at you weirdly which made you want to slap the shit out of him and fight him. 'its giyu, he acts like a robot, why would he like you? and why would you like him, you've never even felt romantic towards anyone.' you thought a lot.
shinobu seemed slightly sad lately when she noticed both of your weird attitudes towards each other, you assumed she thought you were 'growing up'. plus the crows won't stop giving you joined missions. you also learned more about giyu's past, giyu hadn't learned much about yours though. which he stopped thinking about, he started thinking more about you in general and craving attention from you, which he honestly hated.
while all this happened tanjiro had gotten better, mentally and physically. he just got back from a mission with uzui. inosuke, nezuko, and zenitsu had went too. they'd all been hurt terribly, tengen even lost his arm. forcing him to retire.
tanjiro slept for a very long time before waking up, and he then went to get a sword while the other two had their missions. you also completed missions. you and giyu got closer, which you didn't think was possible.
everything around you was mostly normal and stayed the same for some time.

the same thing over and over except every time someone different got hurt. first uzui, and then there was a mission with muichiro, mitsuri, tanjiro and some more people. they came back with marks on their face but tanjiro had always had his. It just seemed darker every day.
they had defeated two upper moons you recalled. when they got back there was a hashira meeting talking about how nezuko had conquered the sun. all hell was soon to come. giyu avoided you in the hashira meeting. he had been avoiding everyone.
"giyu?" you walked around looking for him and you finally walked to his mansion to see tanjiro and giyu talking. "you look mad.." tanjiro sweat-dropped.
"because you said you would become the water hashira!" giyu looked extremely mad and he was sweating. "but you're already the water hashira.."
"no, I'm not."

you decided to give giyu a break because you realized tanjiro might be able to handle his little tantrum.
"y/n, I need to talk to you." shinobu walked in the room and a knot formed in your stomach as you saw her serious expression. you nodded and stood to follow her.
you followed her to a room, a quiet room that felt empty even though kanao was patiently sitting. You sat beside kanao, curious.
"i think it's time we talk about my sister and avenging her."
