Lily's mom parked in the driveway of a very small house in Belleville, New Jersey. Lily lived all her life in New Jersey, but never been to this Belleville before. Personally she believed her mom just wanted her to be away from her grandparents so she could do whatever she wanted without their judgement.
"You will love it here Lily," She tried to persuade her daughter. It's odd to see my mom sober for once. What a difference. The moment they got unpacked Lily thought her mom would be heavily intoxicated or high above the clouds. Or both.
"Yeah sure." She uttered without looking to her mom as she spoke.
"You'll be going to the public high school around here. See it'll be good for you." Lily groaned thinking how her senior year would be her starting all over again at a new school. Which totally sucked. Lily found herself looking through the living room window and saw two guys that were sitting on the porch of the next door neighbor.
They were looking over at her. They were all dressed in black clothing. Lily suddenly felt self-conscious and looked away in response to their stares.
She quickly helped her mom put everything inside the house. Once done Lily went to put her belongings in her bedroom. Her room was adjacent to one of the next door neighbor's room. The two houses were very close together. There was only about two feet distance between the windows of those two rooms.

Once Lily had finished unpacking she suddenly felt exhausted. Especially since she hadn't eaten all day. Her mom hadn't bought groceries. Lily felt her old life appear out of thin air.
She would need to find herself a part-time job as quick as she could if she wanted to eat.
Lily found herself looking in the mirror. She went and fixed up her curly dark brown hair. Her hair has passed her breasts and stopped short before her waist. She might have to cut it soon. Her green eyes are rimmed with black eyeliner. She even noticed her white Black Flag shirt was getting quite snug on her. She had felt sort of happy that she had gained some healthy weight at her grandparents' home, but she suddenly lost her smile as she realized it wouldn't stay on. She would surely loose the healthy weight quickly living with her mom. There never will be food in this house with her in it. All her money just went straight to drugs and alcohol.
My black tight skinny jeans also look great on me now. I put on a Ramone's hoodie, and put on my black Converse on. I want to go for a walk in the new neighborhood. I have to explore and know my way around.
The moment I get downstairs my mom calls to me.
"Yes mom," I responded. My mom is taller than me. She stands at a 5'7, whereas I am at only five feet tall.
"The neighbor next door invited us over to dinner tonight. How thoughtful of them." She said with a smile. Oh lord she was trying to stay sober for our first night here. She's actually trying. I manage to smile back. A little bit of hope washes over my body.
"What time?" I asked.
"In about two hours we have to be there. I was thinking you could run to grocery store, and buy a dessert to bring over." She suggested.
"Ok can I have the keys to the car?" I asked. She passed me the keys.
I then proceed to find the closest grocery store. While there I did see a computer to do applications for a job at the grocery store. I thought why not. I applied for cashier just in case they were hiring. Might as well begin my search.
I then proceeded to buy a small vanilla cake with beautifully decorated frosting.
Once I got home I decided it was time to get ready. I went upstairs. I decided on wearing a short sleeved black loose blouse, and nice blue jeans. I put on a golden metal necklace. I decided to curl my hair some more.
I even decided to put on some golden eyeshadow, liquid eyeliner, eyeliner, and mascara on. I tried to look my best. I sprayed a little bit of my favorite perfume. I smiled at my reflection. I felt really confident.
I went downstairs to find my mother drinking.
"Mom we have to be there soon. Don't drink until we get back. Please." I didn't want to look like a fool to our new neighbors.
"I'm just having one drink. Calm down Lila." She growled.
Thankfully by the time it was to go next door my mom wasn't drunk yet. So we hopefully would make
a good lasting impression on the neighbors hopefully. We go next door, and ring the bell. A tall blonde woman answers the door.
"Oh hello!" She is so cheery. "Welcome, welcome. Come inside." I find my mom & I in the household.
"You must be Lila. I am Donna Way. My husband Donald, and my two sons are in the living room come right this way." She shakes my hand and then takes me to the living room. My mom follows.
"Donna, I absolutely adore your house." My mom said.
"Oh thanks Maria. I am sure your house will be coming along as well. Once you are settled in." In the inside I felt so hollow. No way my mom would actually be suddenly not an alcoholic and an addict.
Once we reach the living room I see the two guys that were on the porch earlier sitting on a couch. Well an older man sat on a couch by himself.
"Everyone this is Lila Hunter and her mom Maria. Lila this is my husband Donald, and my two sons Michael and Gerard." She said proudly.
"Mom, it's Mikey," The tall lanky son groaned.
"Funny. That's not quite what the birth certificate says. Interesting." Mrs. Way said sarcastically. Her other son, Gerard started laughing.
"Well we wait for the food to finish why don't you boys show Lila around the house, and I'll call you when dinner is ready." Mrs. Way said.
Gerard and Mikey get up and I follow them downstairs to what I am assuming was just am average basement.
It turned out to be a bedroom.
"Welcome to my room. Aka the place we chill at." Gerard said.
"So how old are you Lila?" Mikey asked. He had glasses that made him look very attractive. His hair was in his face. And he just looked great. He was wearing an Anthrax t-shirt. Black skinny jeans and vans.
Gerard was also clad in dark clothes. He was wearing a black t-shirt and jeans. And red converse.
"I'm 17 years old. I will be 18 in December." I murmured.
"Mikey is 17 as well. So I am guessing you will be attending Belleville High School with Mikey for your senior year." Gerard smiled. He had a really great smile. Damn these two brothers are quite attractive.
"How old are you?" I asked him.
"I am 20 years old. I go to university." Gerard pulled out a sketchbook, and began doodling something.
Mikey just sat there quietly. For some reason I felt the silence comforting. I never really felt comfortable around people. Especially people my age.
A few minutes later Gerard stopped drawing in his sketchbook.
"Look," He uttered. He shoved the book into my lap. My heart flutters as I stare at a drawing of me. It's beautiful. It's dark and yet haunting.
"It's beautiful." I was in shock. "That took you like ten minutes to draw."
"Gerard is just a show off." Mikey mimicked.
"Look Lila you seem pretty chill. After dinner want to go to a small concert with us? Some local band is playing. Admission is free." Gerard asked.
"Sure. Sounds like fun." I uttered.
"Oh you'll meet our good friends Ray and Frank. They are a riot. OH no we have to keep Frank away from her." Mikey groaned.
"What's wrong with Frank?" I asked curiously.
"Nothing, he's just a bit of a flirt. Especially with new girls, but I am sure he'll be fine. We'll keep you safe." Gerard said protectively.
