My Silent Undoing (Frank Iero)

CHAPTER TWENTY

Chapter Twenty:

NO ONE'S POV:

It was finally January, and Lila was settled in the rehab center.

Frank tends to go visit her whenever he gets a chance. The girls at the rehab refer to him as Lila's boyfriend.

It was Friday, and Frank was visiting Lila today after school. He just signed in, and was looking forward to seeing her. One of her counselors was going to talk to him about progress she was making which was what he wanted to hear.

Since she got here she was slowly gaining weight back. She was finally 88 pounds today the counselor informed Frank. He felt so happy to get this news.

"Frank!" Lila exclaims once she sees Frank. Frank hurries over to her, and he embraces her in his arms for a long time.

"I missed you." He whispers in her ear. She giggles.

"You were here three days ago." She finds him so adorable on how much he misses her. It made her feel special.

"It's not the same. I want to see you everyday." He whispers again while still holding her. Lila is smiling so wide.

"You're such a dork." She slowly pulls aways to look on his face.

"Shut it." Frank is smiling real wide as well. The loving look they have on each other's face was totally oblivious to them two, but not to everyone else.

"Let's go to the game room?" Lila asks Frank. He nods his head. Lila gets back onto her wheelchair, and Frank wheels her away to the game room. They wanted her to be in a wheelchair since she was still too weak from the heart complications. She couldn't wear herself out.

"So they told me that you have to gain the weight more gradually or your heart can't handle it." Frank told Lila.

"Yes they told me as well. So I am taking it really slow. They did say once I am closer to be 100 pounds I should be able to go home. If I am healthy enough of course. Did the Ways tell you yet?" She says excitedly all of a sudden.

"No. What are you talking about?" He asks.

"Momma and Papa Way came here yesterday to give me a surprise with my grandparents. They are adopting me afterall. So I get to back to Belleville." Lila is smiling happily.

"That's amazing news." Frank was in shock. She wasn't going to leave after all. He went to hug her.

"How are you feeling today?" He asks her gently while giving her his full attention.

"I am feeling loads better. They had me walk for fifteen minutes today at a slow pace outside. It was quite nice." They were taking it real slow since Lila's condition at the hospital was quite serious.

"That's good to hear." They then started playing checkers.

"I won yet again." Lila brags.

"It's not classy to boast so much Lila dear." Frank teases her. She smiles and shoves him. "Wow no love."

"Jerk," She mutters.

The next few months Lila is visited by Frank a few times a week. The rest of the group visits a bit as well.

Finally today was the day that Lila was going to go home.

It is March, and she has been here for two months so far. She has finally reached 100 pounds. She still has to gain at least ten more pounds to be a healthy weight, but she can be home now.

The Way family and Frank came to get her. Lila was going to get the guest room as her own room. She was so happy to be with the Way family. She had heard that her mother is on the run since she never went to trial for child neglect.

"We are so glad to have you back." Mikey says while hugging me in the car. We were cuddling in the back. I love these boys. They are now my family. I smile at that fact.

"Why you smiling?" Frank whispers in my ear. He is sitting on my other side. I shiver at the closeness of him.

"Because they are my family now." I whisper in his ear.

We are finally at the house. Once the front door opens the lights in the house go on.

"Welcome back Lila!" Everyone I love is in the room. Kara, Dom, Kara's boyfriend Max, Ray, and my grandparents. They are holding a banner that reads, "Welcome home Lila". I feel tears burn my eyes with joy. I am loved, and am finally home. They all come to hug me and it feels amazing.

We then have a great dinner together. The last person to be here was Frank. Of course.

"Want to go to the park?" He asks me. I was finally able to walk for a longer period of time without getting tired. So I nod my head in excitement.

We walk to the swing set that is filled with a bit of memories. It holds a lot of past moments.

"I'm so glad you are finally back." Frank tells me.

"Me too." I say quietly. I feel so much better about myself. I am now feeling peaceful with my body and life. Though I will be still going to therapy for many months ahead of me. Also Mrs. Way, I mean mom, it's weird saying mom but I like it. Mom says I am going to be part of a group therapy of people with eating disorders. And they meet once every two weeks.

"Tomorrow we must hang out!" Frank declares.

"Yes!" I am so happy to be back.
