-Eight Years Later-
"Hey, princess" I said as I went into the kitchen to see Maddie stood decorating cakes with Charlotte and Kayla. I went over and kissed Maddie's cheek before kissing the girls as well.
"If mummy's a princess, does that make us princesses?" Kayla asked.
"Do you want to be?" I replied, getting down to her height. She nodded rapidly. "Well then, you need to pass the initiation stage" She looked at me confused just as I picked her up and stood up tickling her as I span her around. I then sat her on the work top and she giggled.
"What about me? I want to be a princess too!" Charlotte said and I went and did the same to her.
"So, you gonna help us?" Maddie asked me and I nodded and started decorating one of the other cupcakes.
Who would've thought that at 29/30 we'd have two kids? Kayla was six and Charlotte was four. Maddie fell pregnant with Kayla when she was 23, a year after our wedding and Charlotte a year and a half after that. We were trying again for another, hopefully a boy this time. Maddie named Kayla and I, Charlotte. Maddie decided that Kayla would be Kayla Alexandria Hemmings, after her sister, whilst I named Charlotte after Good Charlotte. It seemed fitting since they were the band who got me into music and without music and the band I wouldn't have met Maddie. But don't worry her middle name isn't Joel. Her full name is Charlotte Rose Hemmings, much to Maddie's delight to find out it wasn't a member of Blink 182. Kayla had been blessed with Maddie's dark brown hair and Charlotte had got my blonde hair. They both had dark brown eyes like their mother and I could tell that they were already developing Maddie's determination and strong personality. I watched as Kayla ate one of the cakes and got icing on her nose. I kissed her nose, wiping some of it off and she giggled.
"Mummy, can we go outside?" Maddie nodded and Charlotte rushed out the door whilst I lifted Kayla off the counter and onto the floor so she could run after Charlotte. Maddie stood at the kitchen window watching and I moved behind her, wrapping my arms around her waist.
"We've got some pretty great kids" I said and she smiled and turned around to face me.
"Thanks for fake dating me 11 years ago" She said.
"Thanks for walking into that meeting room 11 years ago"
"Wow, can you believe we've been together nine years?"
"Those two years apart were hell" She nodded in agreement.
"We've been married eight years"
"We were only together for a year before we got married" She shrugged. "But we've created a beautiful family and I've got the most wonderful and amazing wife I could have ever asked for"
"You still know how to make me blush even after all these years"
"Well, what can I say?" She laughed quietly.
"I love you, Luke Robert Hemmings"
"I love you, Madison Marie Hemmings"
I have three girls in my life who I love to pieces. I never thought that one day I'd end up with the girl who was once my celebrity crush. I never thought that I'd end up fake dating her either but I'm glad all of it happened. I'm even glad we split up for two years because as cheesy as it may sound, it brought us closer. She's given me more than I can wish for, including Kayla and Charlotte. Maddie's always been the one from the day she walked into that meeting room and knowing that we get to spend the rest of our lives together is all I could ever ask for. And to me, she'll always be my princess.
