October 6th, 1985 (6 months)

Billy shut the front door and groaned, back popping and body reeking of sweat. "Fucking kids." He grumbled, rolling his shoulder and wincing at the sharp pain that shot through his back. Despite the pain, he was elated to hear the shower start to run - knowing that meant, he was quick to kick off his boots and head down the hall.

Instead of barging straight in, Billy listened to your soft hums as you got everything prepped. It almost lolled him to sleep, but when a loud crash from inside shot worry through his veins as he nearly kicked down the door. "(Y/n)!-" You glanced up to him, picking up the shampoo bottle that smacked against the side of the porcelain tub. "Can I help you?" You asked, standing up and placing the bottle down while sending your boyfriend a worried look.

"It was-...just a bottle."

With a small chuckle you walked over to the blond and pressed a kiss to his cheek, "Just a bottle." With your reaffirming words, you started to undress yourself and sent Billy back a knowing look. "You just gonna stare at my boobs or join me?" Like a flash he was stumbling out of his jeans, almost slamming into the wall before following you into the shower. It was silent between you both for a moment - the running water providing the calming white noise that would have lulled you to sleep had you not opened your eyes.

"We haven't talked about California in a while." You said, wetting your hair and glancing back to Billy as he got his hands lathered to wash your hair. He paused for a moment and met your gaze - suds building on his hands before he started gently running them across your scalp, "All right, well...do you want to talk about it now?" His voice was softer than usual, but you were happy to be continuing this conversation with him.

"If we're going to go we have to go sometime soon." You rested your hands over your belly and leaned your body back into his own, Billy's larger hands covering yours with a soft sigh. "We're going to be swamped after we have this baby...there's no way that we'll be able to make it down there after we have them." Your soft reminder was followed by a soft kiss to his jaw - the boy furrowing his brows a bit as he pulled you as close as you could get. "I know that, just-...isn't it a close call?"

"How long are you planning on staying in California?"

"At least two months..."

With that, you took in a small breath and moved from his grip to wash out your hair, "It's really cutting it close." Billy shrugged his shoulders and took your sides in his hands - coarse thumbs swiping over the bump with an unexpected tenderness. "I know." Silence greeted you both once more, your eyes meeting as his lone curl fell down between his eyes. Swiping the hair out of the way and cupping his face in your hands, you pressed a small kiss to his nose. "I want to go with you." Immediately his eyes went wide, "Babe I-"

"I know that it's risky, but I don't want you to be by yourself and I want to be there with you."

Your sweet words made his stomach flutter, but he had to shake the feeling in favor of reality. "There's nothing more than I want for you to go with me, but I'm just worried about if something happens while we're there." With a single kiss to his lips it was like his heart was beating in his ears, your loving smile enamoring him and making his fingers dig into the plump flesh of your sides. "The longer we wait and don't go the more likely that is to happen."

After a moment of debate and some mental math, Billy placed a small kiss on your forehead and kept his lips there as he mumbled his response. "How about the beginning of next month?" Your soft chuckle made the corners of his mouth curl up, "That's quite a short notice...Steve is gonna flip his shit." At that reminder, your boyfriend let out a soft groan and pulled you closer. "We'll go at the beginning of November and leave right after Christmas I promise."
