(I know this song did not come out until the 90s, but it was on loop while I wrote this)
- Edit: Song is Lullaby by Billy Joel since Wattpad wants to keep taking it down :) -
January 9th, 1986
You groaned as the sun came through the curtains and hit right against your eyes - your body attempting to roll away only to be stopped by a pinch in your lower back.
"Mother f-mmgh!!!" You grunted, winching even more when another contraction sparked in your lower belly. "Goddammit!" You howled, feeling your legs and feet cramp up as you were stuck laying on your side with the sun in your eyes.
The door to the bedroom faintly opened and shut in the background, your breathing turning into huffs as you tried to reach around to apply pressure on your back.
A pair of hands beat you to it, the dip in the bed making your heart ease as Billy's soothing voice melted away the pain. "Hey there baby...I got you. Don't move, it'll go away soon." He reminded, easing your squirming as you bit down on your lip through the pain before taking a few deep breaths.
His fingers pressed and rolled against the perfect spots along your back and legs - relaxing your muscles as the braxton hicks contractions subsided.
"I hate this...I want this baby out!" You complained, hearing his soft chuckle before his body slotted in behind you. Billy tucked your hair back and pressed a kiss to your shoulder, glaning over to see the way your lids fluttered shut whem his arm wrapped around you.
"I know, I hate seeing you like this." He earnestly replied, hearing your small hum as he fixed the curtains to block the sun once more. "You gonna continue your nap?"
You nodded, body relaxing back into the mattress as he bit back a smile at your sleepy state. It had been harder for you to sleep at night - suddenly getting bursts of energy that would last until the sun came up. Needless to say he was happy that you were finally getting rest, even if it was 2pm.
Billy pressed a kiss to your head before slowly getting out of the bed. He waited for a moment until he heard your snore before leaving the room and gently closing the door, only to turn around and nearly scream when he ran into Max.
"Holy-...Max...what are you doing just standing out there?"
She shrugged, "You went back there pretty quick. I wanted to make sure everything was okay, ya know?"
Billy crossed his arms, "She's not in labor."
"Dammit!" Max cursed, swatting her brothers hand away as her ruffled her hair. She stomped back into the living room where the party was sitting and watching 'The Breakfast Club'. They all looked up to her expectantly, sighing when she shook her head and flopped back into her seat.
The house had been newly furnished due to Susan getting a new job that payed much better than her previous one. Everything was now baby-proofed, all that was left was to wait for the actual baby.
Steve looked over at Billy who refused to sit - instead chosing to lean against the kitchen island where he could see the TV just enough while also being closer to your room. The brunette walked over and stood next to him, "You doing okay, man?"
Billy hummed, "Yeah, yeah...just worried she's just gonna pop one day and I won't be here. I don't wanna start off as the worst father of the year." They both chuckled, Steve nudging his shoulder with his own.
"You could never be a shit dad. In this house alone there are at least four people who have real P.O.S's as dads." He paused, glancing to the boy next to him. "You've grown."
