"So you're asking if she can live with us?" Susan questioned, watching Billy lean against the doorway leading into your room. "Yeah. Her mom passed away and she doesn't have a place to stay...I'll pay rent and everything." He glanced back to check on you, watching as you were playing with Meow on the end of your bed.

"Are you sure about this? If you two break up that might be weird."

Billy swallowed his words, knowing that Susan still assumed that they were just the 'average' high school couple. "BILLY! LOOK!" You cheered, his head whipping around to see that you made a small bow from the napkin and set it on Meow's head. The boy smiled at you and your enthusiasm before looking back to Susan. "Yeah, I don't think we will have to worry about that."

The older woman thought for a moment, taking in a small breath before nodding. "Alright. She can stay, just make sure you pay rent." Billy thanked her, unsure of what else to say before Susan excused herself to run a few errands.

Walking back into the room, your curious eyes met his own until a large grin appeared on his lips. "So, are you ready to move in or what?" Instantly you cheered, throwing up your hands and enveloping him in a slightly uncomfortable hug- but the pain was overshadowed by the joy.

You pressed a kiss to his lips, intending it to be a one and done thing but Billy had other plans. He sat sideways on the bed, tangling his fingers in your hair before pulling you in once more. "I love you princess~" He panted gently, eyes fluttering shut as he kissed you once more.

"I love you too." You sighed, slightly whining when Dr. Owens came into the room. Pulling away, Billy continued to litter your face in small pecks as Joyce trailed in behind him.

"Joyce!" You smiled, giving her a small hug as your boyfriend got situated in a seat beside you. "Why are you here?" You asked. "Mr. Hargrove's car has been fixed and is ready to be picked up." Dr. Owens said, handing Billy the keys.

The boy went wide eyed before furrowing his brows, "You said it was wrecked." Dr. Owens shrugged and nudged his head towards you, "It was, but she asked me and I couldn't refuse."

"Princess-"

"I know how much that car means to you Billy." You interjected, reaching over to tuck a stray curl behind his ear. "I don't want to leave you here." He softly mouthed the words against your forehead, but Joyce heard what he had said and placed a hand on your shoulder.

"That's why I'm here. I'll stay with her until you get back."

Though Billy wanted to argue, he couldn't find any justifications to not trust Joyce. With a nervous swallow he cupped your face, "Are you sure you'll be okay?" You gave him a reassuring smile and kissed the tip of his nose. "I promise I'll be okay."

His nostrils flared, a clear sign of resignation as he gave you another firm kiss and then pulled away, still reluctant to let go of your hand. "I'll be back soon, okay? Don't go anywhere." You nodded, watching him give your palm one last squeeze before he headed out of the room.

Once it was just you and Joyce, you barely had time to relax before the nurse came in and presented your blood test results to Dr. Owens. She whispered something to him, flicking her gaze to you as Dr. Owens quickly flipped through the papers and muttered something back.

"I'm sure everything is fine." Joyce said, using the tone of a mother that could make anyone relax in an instant. Dr. Owens thanked the nurse as she left the room before clearing his throat and looking at you. "Well, your blood tests came back clean...there are no abnormalities and everything looks fine....but-"
