"Okay, so give me a quick rundown of the plan again." You said, popping another pretzel stick in your mouth before feeding one to Billy. "So..." He chewed, swallowing his bite and wetting his lips. "...we are going to meet Chris and Jacob down the street from their apartment for better parking. Then we will set down our stuff and go walk around for a little while since we have been sitting for so damn long."

"Hallelujah." You smiled and threw your hands up in the air, catching a glimpse of the grin on your boyfriend's lips. His hand rested on your thigh - thumb rubbing slow circles over the fabric of your sweats as he glanced over to you. "You know I love you right? You're the best damn thing to ever happen to me." With a gentle squeeze your cheeks flushed.

"I'm the lucky one. I mean, not many boys are as sweet, dedicated, and loving as you are...and they definitely don't stay when their girlfriend of less than a year announces she is pregnant." You grumbled, eating another pretzel at the slightest thought of stupid boys. "It doesn't feel like we haven't even dated for a year. I mean, I guess that's good and bad."

You turned your head toward him and passed him another stick, "How so?" Billy shrugged and let the snack hang from his lips. "Well, it's bad because I don't think it is normal to be this in love with someone after less than a year. But at the same time, that means I get to spend more time with you if it hasn't even been a year yet." Instead of responding you reached to your side and pulled out the box of tissues before you started to cry. He soothingly rubbed your thigh, trying not to laugh at the fact that you were on your third box for this trip.

Blowing your nose and trying to calm yourself, you threw the used tissue into a plastic bag on the floor before sniffing a few times. "If I could make out with you right now I would." You huffed back breaths, drying your lashes with the back of your hands. "I would totally be down for that tonight...though I think that quickie at the gas station really tops the road trip."

You crossed your arms, "I see how it is. You'd prefer sex than quality time with your gorgeous girlfriend." You teased, watching his brows raise and fingers tap the steering wheel as he flicked his eyes toward you. "I always will take time with you, I just thought that it counted, cause, ya know...you are the one giving me the bj." Your laughter filled the car, his eyes lighting up at your joy.

"I'm just kidding babe. I love spending any time with you."

The sweet moment was interrupted by your excited gasp as you pointed to the sign on the 52. "La Jolla! We are almost there!" You read the sign for the nearby exit, missing the look of adoration that crossed Billy's face at your enthusiasm. He never expected the road trip to be easy with anyone else in his car - preferring to be alone on long drives - but you were a joy. When you weren't sleeping, you were wide awake and chattering with him - even forcing yourself to stay awake through the drive of Oklahoma and Texas to make sure he was alert. If you weren't driving, you were feeding him snacks and talking when the radio dropped to static.

"So what do Chris and Jacob do exactly? La Jolla is pretty well-off right? How did two 19 year olds manage to afford an apartment by the beach?" You questioned. "Jacob's family is extremely wealthy...I'm talking top 3% of the nation. They have huge companies everywhere, and Jacob happens to be the only heir." Your eyes widened and jaw slightly dropped, "So he is rich, rich."

Billy sighed, "Yeah. But he doesn't like people to talk about it. He hates the fact that his parents try and do everything for him...it would be best if you don't mention his parents, the business, or the wealth altogether." Your lips curved down into a frown and your head slightly tilted, "What happened with his parents?"

"Don't tell him I told you any of this..." He started, taking a breath and sending you a somewhat sad glance. "...he never talks with his parents. They only butt in when he needs essentials - a car, a house, etc. Their entire relationship with him is materialistic. It always has been." You muttered a small 'oh', not even being able to imagine only hearing from your parents when they are trying to give you things.
