Chapter 35

Sophia’s Pov

I’m in my bed scrolling through tik tok when I get a text. I click on the notification.

Pretty boy

Meet me at our
spot in 20

I start typing for a second. I was gonna ask him a whole bunch of questions but decided it would be best to talk to him in person.

I get out of bed and walk out to the living room.

“John B, where are the keys?” I ask.

“On the counter why?” John B asks.

“I gotta go meet JJ somewhere,” I say, grabbing the keys off the counter and walking back to the living room.

“Okay, let me know what happens,” He says. I walk out the door and get in the twinkie, driving away.

When I get to the beach I park the truck and walk over to the pier. There’s a spot underneath where we have always hung out even when we were kids. I see JJ sitting in the sand, leaning his back up against a wooden post.

“Hey,” I say quietly. He looks up at me and pats the ground next to him. I sit down and he grabs my hand. He places a gentle kiss on my forehead.

“I’m really sorry,” He says, fiddling with his rings.

“I’m just really confused on why you got mad and left,” I say. I didn’t want to be mad at him because I was scared he was gonna run away again.

“Kie texted me and told me you slept with Pope,” He says.

“Oh no, baby. I would never cheat on you,” I say.

“I know, I texted Pope about it and he said it was all a lie.” JJ says. “I’m really sorry for running off.”

“It’s okay, I'm just glad you're okay and told me what was going on,” I say.

“I love how you're always so understanding. I wouldn’t wanna spend life with anyone else.” He says.

“I don’t think anyone else could handle you,” I say with a laugh. JJ laughs and looks up at me.

"I love you, Sophia Rose." JJ says.

"I love you too, JJ."

"Forever and Always?" He asks putting his pinky up.

"Forever and Always," I say, interwinning our pinkies.

He leans in bringing us into the most electrifying and most meaningful kiss I have ever experienced. When we pull away JJ stands up and digs in his pocket. He gets down on one knee and opens the box. There was a beautiful diamond ring in it.

“I know we're young but I don’t wanna live without,” JJ says. “Actually I can’t live without you.”

“Will you marry me Sophia?” He asks.

“Yes! Yes! Oh my god yes!” I say. He slips the ring on my finger and I take a second to admire it.

“I was so scared you were gonna say no,” He says.

“I would never turn down something like this,” I say with a huge smile. “How did you even afford this?”

“I’ve been saving up since we were 13.” JJ says.

“13?!” I exclaim.

“That's when I knew you were the one.”
