Outside of Darmstadt, Germany
Yara listened as Natasha explained their next steps to her. The brunette had no idea how to bring down a full organization of people. She relied on the fact that Natasha had more experience with that.
The plan was simple enough, but, like most things in life, something just had to go wrong. It started out just fine and for the most part, everything went well.
Natasha went to visit Griebel's driver. The plan was for her to find out when and where he was meeting Griebel next.
The driver turned out to be an annoyingly stubborn and loyal man. But his weakness for his bunny named John McClane - yes, he named his bunny after Bruce Willis' character from Die Hard - turned out to work in their favor. Natasha had returned to the hotel with the pet after her conversation with him to make sure that he wouldn't do anything stupid.
The driver was supposed to pick up Griebel later that day. An hour before the meeting was supposed to take place, Yara and Natasha returned to his apartment and warned him not to get into contact with his boss until they said anything else. They left with the black car's keys that he used when he dropped Griebel off at the base a few days ago.
The car was standing next to several other cars that were all either silver or black. It took them a solid twenty minutes to find it, but eventually, they did.
Natasha went over the plan one last time to make sure that everything was clear, then they left. Yara was driving and Natasha sat next to her.
When Natasha had explained the plan to Yara for the first time, the brunette hadn't quite known what to expect. The blonde was part of a team that tended to go into every battle head-first. Or that's at least how it seemed in every news report about the Avengers' fights Yara had seen and heard. But at the same time, Natasha was first and foremost an assassin and a spy. It was unlikely that she would seek a direct confrontation with the whole group.
The plan was to pick up Griebel and have a word with him. Yara doubted if 'having a word with him' would be enough. They didn't really have any evidence to get him sent to prison, would this conversation, if it could be called that, turn out to be fruitless. And even if they did have evidence, Yara couldn't allow that to happen, because he would surely tell the whole world about her. That was something she wanted to avoid at any cost.
Yara had asked Natasha once what they would do with Griebel if 'talking to him' wouldn't get them anywhere. The Avenger's answer hadn't been very clear - something about him regretting not listening to them.
The Yara approached the house that she knew to be Griebel's residence. It was also the place where the driver was supposed to pick up his boss in a few minutes.
Instead, Yara sat in the car, waiting for the man to show up. She had dropped Natasha off earlier.
The brunette watched as the house's front door finally opened and a tall man stepped outside. He had short, black hair and wore a plain black suit. It was Griebel.
He walked up to the car and got in without sparing his driver a glance. Yara let out an inaudible sigh of relief. This would make her job much easier.
As soon as the man had slammed the car's door shut, Yara spun around in her seat and electrocuted him. Once the electricity stopped, his body went limp. He was sprawled out across all three backseats.
Yara stepped on the gas pedal and felt the motor roar as the car accelerated quickly. She drove through the busy center of Darmstadt on her way to a place outside of the city where she was going to meet Natasha.
