Chapter 11

Apollo

Finally, finally she was back. I took her in my arms after I got out, she looked different, apart from her hair and eye color, she looked tired and malnourished. After we broke up, I looked seriously worried in the eyes.

"Where have you been? We were worried!"

"I'll tell you in the car. "

I sighed quietly and got into my suncar.

"Do you want to drive?"

I asked her and winked at her. She just rolled her eyes and shook her head.

"Still don't have a driver's license. "

I grinned, I was glad she could still make jokes despite her disappearance. I had been afraid after the war never to hear her laugh again, never to see her eyes sparkle again when she was amused. She laughed sometimes, but her smile never reached her eyes, no after the war her eyes had become dull and sad. I knew she was mentally unstable and about to break, I also knew that her jokes, like Leo's, were a facade to distract from her condition. To create a bubble where everything was fine.

I had made it my job to help her, I wanted to bring back her laughter, I had decided to be her friend, who would lift her up when she fell. Hermes vowed the same, he will always be there for her, we will protect her and make her laugh.

"Apollo, you're staring. "

She said. I looked at her in surprise, in fact I had looked at her lost in thought.

"I'm glad to have you back. You can't believe how much we've all missed you...
And I'm surprised about your new look, I didn't expect you to be into bright colors. "

She turned a little red and looked out the window and played with one of her white hair strands.

"I didn't choose this, I was held captive by mortals, for reasons I don't know, they tortured me to find out information about a group called Avengers. "

I looked at her in horror. TORTURED?! I'm going to get the people who did this to her. My hands started to shake and I felt my eyes starting to glow. "Hey Apollo, it's fine, I'm okay now." Percy put her hand on mine and I concentrated on breathing. She was right and I could get my revenge as soon as she was safe at home.
I knew the Avengers, Clint was my grandson, I think. I liked him, he had inherited my great archery arts and my wonderful looks.
She continued to tell her sttory.

"When two of the Avengers came and rescued me, I was taken to the Starktower and provided with medicine while I was sleeping. When I woke up, I had this hair and eye color, do you know where it came from?

"May I?"

She nodded, so I put a hand on her forehead and closed myr eyes (Yes, not necessarily the best thing to close my eyes while driving, but I am a god and an awesome driver).
I let warmth flow through my hand and healed her remaining wounds.
When I opened my eyes, she looked at me and smiled.

"Thank you. "

"You have the white hair and eyesdue to an injection, I checked to see if the injection has any other effects, but I couldn't find anything, so whatever they tried,  they failed. Within a week, everything will be back to normal and you will be able to twist the heads of all male beings like before. "

When I said that, I could see her cheeks turning red. Involuntarily I had to smile, it was so easy to embarrass her.

"Thank you. "

She said it again, but I only nodded it off.
A short time later we arrived at her mother's house. She got out and waved. I waved back and drove off, back to Olympus, Poseidon was there with two small, stupid mortales, needing to be taught manners.


Percy:

It was a strange feeling to be home again. I has not been gone for long and yet I appreciated being back. I walked up to our townhouse and rang the bell, I thought about using the fire escape, but then decided that it was too impersonal. When the door opened, I saw in front of me a person very familiar to me. "Nico", I shouted and threw myself into his arms, I had missed my ghost king. 

He hugged me tightly. We stood there for a while, until a voice was cleared behind me. "Persephone Jackson, how could you scare me like that? We've been looking all over for you, we've stopped hunting a Titan to find you! I've never expected the hunters to be  so worried about you. " I swirled around and saw Thalia standing in front of me. She pulled me into her arms, but not without giving me a powerful electric shock, which I only acknowledged with a laugh. "I missed you Thals. " She laughed softly. In the midst of my friends it felt like family, I would save them, this time I will be strong enough to save the ones I love. I promised myself. At the thought of my deceased friends, tears came to my eyes, I had thought we would always be together, but my wish had not come true. I felt a warm hand on my cheek and looked up into my father's green eyes, he looked at me pitifully and pulled me into his arms without a word. All the tears I had successfully held back before now ran down my cheeks. I buried my face in his chest and sobbed quietly.

I could feel him stroking my back with his hand. I wish I could always stay like this, I always wanted to feel this feeling of warmth and security. After a while, I detached myself from him. "I'm glad you're back with us. " He said it with so much love in his voice that I almost started crying again. "I have brought your two kidnappers to Zeus, and he will judge them. Apollo is there right now to keep an eye on them." I nodded. "I have to go back to Olympus, I'm glad you're all right. Your mother doesn't know about your disappearance because of Hera, so we changed one of her memories so she thought you'd been at home with her all week. If you want it any other way, we can undo it, but we thought it would be best if she didn't worry. "I nodded again:" Thank you. I want her memories to stay so she thinks I was there so she doesn't have to worry. She's worried enough about me. Thanks for searching for me. " Poseidon just nodded and dissolved into air, all that remained was a smell of salt water and a feeling of warmth.


"How are you? You don't look well. " I looked at Nico, who asked the question. And told him and Thalia everything starting my capture to my waking up in the Starktower and my ride with Apollo. When I brought up the part with Apollo, Thalia pulled her eyebrows together while Nico grinned. "You were really in a room with the Avengers?! Oh Gods, I've been a fan of them ever since I heard of them. Steve's the coolest, he's from the same time as me. " I was surprised and looked at Nico. I never expected that. Then I laughed and thought back to the time when we met and he was playing with his cards. "Nico and I have been thinking. We want to spend some time with you in your cottage in Montauk and spend some time together, we think it's good for you to keep a little distance from the world. "Thalia said slowly that I looked at her and thought back to Montauk, the place where it all began. Slowly I nodded, "I would love to go there with you, but Will has to come, we don't want Nico to be separated from his love for too long. " When I said that, he blushed and looked at me with a mixture of anger and gratitude. Thalia's eyes widened, she knew about it, didn't she? "What are you saying? The Son of Darkness and the Son of Light are together?" Whoops. . .
Fortunately, my mother just came in. "Hey, honey, I'm back", she called from the door into the living room. I jumped up, ran over to her and pressed her to me. "Hey, hey, it's all right, I was only gone for an hour", she laughed. "Thalia, Nico, nice to see you", my mother said and looked over at them. " Mom, I wanted to ask if I could go to Montauk together with Nico, Thalia and Will."

My mother thought for a moment until she agreed, I smiled at her thankfully, and followed by my friends, went to my room to pack. I threw Nico a drachma. "Why don't you send an Iris message to Will?" He nodded and disappeared into the bathroom. "Where are your things?"
"We thought you'd agree, so we packed our things, they're down the hallway. " I nodded and continued to pack my luggage. We didn't have to buy food because I owned Piper's cornucopia. After the war, the gods had given it to me, as well as Leo's tool belt, which I had given to the Hepheistos hut. They needed it more than I did. When I had everything together, I went with Thalia to Nico, who would take us to the camp and then to Montauk.
"Ready? he asked after he took our hands.  I noded. "Awsome, then let's go!"
