Chapter 21

Clint:

I saw Percy drop the paper and looked at her in surprise, just then I noticed her pale face and her from shock widened eyes, fixed on the TV, which was showing a picture of a young, beautiful woman. Suddenly Percy began to stagger and fell to the ground. Just in time before she could touch it, I jumped up and caught her. Her incredible green eyes met mine for a moment before thry rolled backwards and she lost consciousness. "Percy, hey Percy, it's not bedtime yet. " Tony sat down beside me with a worried look and spoke gently to the girl in my arms. I looked at him in surprise. Could that be? The famous Tony Stark sounded serious once?! I turned to Percy again when I noticed her moving slightly in my arms. "Hey Cinderella, did you sleep well?" I asked her. "Not Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty was the one who slept until she was kissed awake. " At her last words, she opened her eyes and jumped open, but stumbled upon Natasha, who quickly caught her. "Just say one of you kissed me!" I had to laugh at her horrified tone and shook my head. The others also joined my laughter. "Don't worry, we didn't touch you. What was that?" Steve asked her. Her eyes got a tired expression, something that was usually seen only in old soldiers who had fought in many battles. In the S. H. I. E. L. D. base I had seen many people with such a look, but I had never seen such a young person. But Nat also looked at her anxiously and suspiciously. so it was not a trick of my imagnation. "Nothing, that was nothing, I just had a small circulatory problem. But it's all gone now." I didn't really buy her story... " Did you know one of those people who died in the blast?" Tony looked at her expectantly. At his words, she shook her head and backed away. "Did you plant that explosion yourself?" I gave Natasha a bad look, couldn't she just keep her mouth shut? You could see how bad Percy was. She began to tremble slightly and Thor walked up to her and whispered something in her ear. At his words she calmed down and nodded at him. Her once disturbed expression hidden behind a neutral mask.

When a cell phone rang, everyone twitched and looked at Percy. She pulled her phone out of her pocket. When she saw who was calling, her expression suddenly brightened and she held the phone up to her ear. "Hey Nico, how are you?" She slowly walked out of the room. As soon as she was gone, Tony sat down at his computer and typed wildly on the keyboard. "What are you doing?" Steve asked him. "I'm trying to hack into her phone, Cap, apparently the ice has frozen your brain cells. Thought for the few of them have had enough time to unfreeze, apparently I was mistaken." I suppressed a laugh and came closer. "And, are you successful?" I asked him. He grinned at me. "Of course I'm successful, I'm Tony Stark after all. " With these words, he pressed a button. 

"Where are you? You're not with a friend like you said. " Instantly sounded a reproachful voice through a speaker on the wall.
"Uhm, something has come up". . . a timid voice answered. "Where are you?" "Nico, buddy, are you stalking me?" "No, seaweedbrain, I just don't want anything to happen to you. " Now the boy's voice sounded anxious. "I'm fine. I'm with the Avengers. They think I'm a threat, and they want to keep an eye on me." You could almost hear her rolling her eyes. "At THE Avengers?" Now this Nico sounded totally confused. "You always manage to get yourself in trouble. How many kidnappings has that been?" He sounded slightly amused. "If you count the one from Arachne' we're probably already at five. " I opened my eyes, FIVE kidnappings?! She was only 23 years old. And who was Arachne? "When will you get out of there?" "I don't know, but it's nice here, even if I miss the others. It's perfect to distract me from everrything that happened." Her last words were barely a whisper, her voice overshaadowed by sadness.  "Percy, you know you have to fce it, every other wwaay will hurt you even more. Furthermore, I want to say hello to you from David, Piper and the others." Who was David and Piper as in Piper McLean, the  girl   she  apparently did not noe? There was a soft sigh. "I know  it's not  the right way, but for now it is the easiest. If my family ask where I am, you can tell them, but also tell them that I'm fine and I don't need any help. I don't feel like explaining why all of a sudden a bunch of Go-... uh, relatives are standing on the doormat." "Yes, maybe we can meet sometime when you get out of there. I left a little present for you in the hut by the sea. That's why I called in the first place. " After Percy promised to check in and get back to him, she hung up. Now I had more questions and far too few answers. The way I knew Tony, he'd make sure we got them as soon as possible.
