Percy:I looked into the brown eyes of John Carter, mentally congratulating myself. We were going to stay away from him. And what happened to me? I was stopped directly by him.He reaches out his hand to me "Hello, my name is John Carter." I gave him a forced smile and shook his hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you Mr Carter, I've heard so much about you." I said in my best suck-up-voice. "Well hopefully only good things." He winked at me. "Is there any bad?" He laughed out loud and I slightly screwed up my face. He had bad breath. I looked over at Clint in desperation, he was still talking to the man from before. He probably hadn't even noticed I was in trouble yet. "Is that your boyfriend?" Carter had followed my gaze and was looking at Clint. I nodded. It was weird to say that Clint was my boyfriend. "He's really lucky to have a girlfriend as beautiful as your. Your beauty surpasses everyone else here." He took hold of a strand that had come loose from my hair. I swallowed hard. "Thank you." "I was wondering if you had any plans for tonight." He smiled greasily at me. Bile rose up inside me. "I have to beg your pardon." "Your boyfriend doesn't need to know." He put a hand on my shoulder. Suddenly I heard a clearing of the throat behind me. I was never so glad to see the familiar face of Clint. I leaned towards him and he put an arm around my shoulder. He looked at Carter with hatred and jealousy. Was this all an act? If so, he was a very good actor. "My name is John Carter. You have a gorgeous girlfriend." He extended his hand to Clint, which he shook as if he had to restrain himself from breaking it. "Thank you, I know I have a wonderful girlfriend." He looked me in the eye."But now you must please excuse me." With those words, he took my hand and pulled me somewhere else. "Do you feel like dancing?" I looked around." Who do you want me to dance with?" He laughed softly. It sounded sexy as hell, a slight shiver slid down my spine. What was this man doing to me that one little laugh was enough to totally distract me? "With me, of course." He held out his hand to me, which I hesitantly accepted. "I can't dance though." "Don't worry, I can lead just fine." With those words, he pulled me onto the dance floor. He put a hand on my waist and I put one on his shoulder. Slowly we glided across the floor. I remembered my last dance. It had ended with David gone and me poisoned. At first I concentrated on not trampling on his feet, but after a while I just gave in to the music and let the archer lead me.We danced together in silence for a long time, and one didn't notice how time flew.A new song was played. It was a love song.Uncertainly I looked up at Clint, should we stop dancing? He took the decision from me by putting both arms around my waist and pulling me closer to him. So I put my arms around his neck and slowly we swayed to the beat of the music. I felt free. Free from all worries and obligations. There was nothing but me and Clint. "Did I ever tell you how beautiful you are?" He whispered softly in my ear. I looked up into his face. He looked serious and there was something in his gaze. Was it love? My heart was beating so fast I could swear he felt it. Slowly he bent his head down to me and I stretched to bridge the last few inches between our lips. Our lips met "The target is going into a basement." Immediately we separated from each other and listened to Natasha as she continued to speak." Carter went down the door to your left into the basement. There are no cameras, so you guys should see if there's anything interesting there." Clint scratched the back of his neck nervously. "We should check it out." I nodded and followed him to the door. What had that just been. My lips tingled slightly after our kiss. But was it really a kiss? It was more like a brush of our lips.Could it be that he felt the same way about me as I did about him? Why did Natasha have to say something at that moment? He opened the door and walked into a dark hole. You really couldn't describe it any other way. A staircase led down into the darkness. I hesitantly followed Clint down the stairs. At the bottom it looked quite different. There were barrels everywhere. I went closer to one to look inside. I opened the lid and dropped it again, only to open it again. Thousands of diamonds glittered and sparkled at me. It was a colourful mix of all kinds of gemstones. I pulled out a sapphire and turned it slightly in the light of a dim flickering lamp. I turned and promptly ran into Clint, who had crept up on me without me noticing. He caught me before I fell. When I was standing properly again, I began to speak. "Apparently this Carter guy doesn't just have blood on his hands. He's smuggling." Clint nodded. "Did you hear that Tasha?" He asked into his headset. "All clear and distinct. Tony, go see if anything is known about smuggling in this area!"Suddenly we heard footsteps coming towards us. Quickly I closed the lid and looked around for a place to hide. Clint grabbed me by the wrist and pulled me with him into another hallway. The footsteps were coming straight towards us. " We need an alibi ." He looked around searchingly. "Kiss me!" Clint whispered to me. I looked at him in wonder. Had he really drunk that much. "I thought we didn't drink on duty." He rolled his eyes. "Go on, kiss him" Natasha interjected again. "Why would I kiss him-" that was as far as I got, as he gently placed his lips on mine. He kissed me gently, reservedly. It was the softest hint of a kiss. His hand slid down to my hip while he buried the other in my hair. I recovered from my surprise and returned the kiss. Softly, he pulled me to his chest. He turned us around and pressed me against the wall. "You don't know how long I've wanted to do this." He whispered into the kiss. I sighed happily, which caused him to pull me even closer to him and kiss me harder. I felt like I was melting into him. I'd never had such an intense feeling in a kiss before. Not even with David. I consumed his  smell of sun and sand wood. Every place he touched suddenly felt tingly and alive. I put my hands on his arms and held him feverishly. Clint put a hand to my cheek and looked into my eyes for a moment. His face had never seemed so beautiful to me. "I love you." He whispered three little words that shut my brain down. "I love you too." I gently placed my lips on his again. After that, every thought was lost and time stopped. I was in sensual overkill. My brain had completely suspended. It was just Clint and me now. The dark basement, my mother's imprisonment and the death of my friends had become a distant memory. I couldn't tell how long we had been kissing. It could have been hours or it could have been seconds. He parted from me but left one hand on my hip. His other hand moved to my hair and he gently wrapped a loose strand around his fingers. I looked into his beautiful blue eyes and realised he was grinning. "You seem very pleased with yourself." He raised an eyebrow. "True." I punched him playfully on the arm. He took his hand off my waist and put his arm around my shoulder. "We really should do that again." In response I gave him a kiss on his cheek. "Always happy to" He laughed softly. It was a wonderful moment. Until the footsteps from just before us stopped. Crap, I had forgotten all about them. Clint looked up startled too. A little thought in the back of my brain said that I could be proud of being able to distract a pointy spy like that. I looked at the man in front of me. It was the blond one from a moment ago. Clint pulled me tighter against him. "It's forbidden to be down here." The man said in a terribly familiar voice. How did I know him? "Sorry, we wanted a small room where we could be undisturbed. We will leave immediately." He took my hand and pulled me past the man. The latter, however, grabbed my arm. "Not so fast Persephone. After all this time, you don't want to leave already." I felt a short, sharp pain on my head and collapsed. The last thing I heard was Clint's scream.
