Chapter 19

Percy:

Gods, I hated nightmares! I heard the door shut quietly and the steps receding. I sighed quietly. I wasn't lying when I said it wasn't my worst nightmare. This time I had dreamed of my third year. How Bianca and Zoe died. I buried my face in my hands and cried quietly. It was my fault, like so many other deaths. I should have sacrificed myself in her place. No, I just should have been faster. "Are you all right, Miss Jackson? Shall I call someone to comfort you?" I shuddered when I heard the voice. "Who are you?" I asked in a hoarse voice. "My name is JARVIS. I am Mr. Stars Artificial Intelligence. I am everywhere to help when someone needs help." I smiled slightly. "Well, um JARVIS. No, you don't have to call anyone, it's all right. Is this room soundproof?" "I can make this room soundproof if you want Miss Jackson. "
"That would be great, but please only when I'm asleep. Oh and no, please  call me Percy, JARVIS." I felt incredible old, whenever someone  called me Miss Jackson. Luckily this had been my first time, so I only noticed my dislike towards beaing adrressed with 'Miss' just now... "As you wish, Percy. "Can you tell me what the Avengers are doing?" I asked with slight hesitation. "Natasha Romanoff, also known as Black Widow, is in her room sleeping. Steve Rogers or Captain America is like every night at this time in the gym. Clint Barton or Hawkeye, is also in the realm of dreams. Iron Man or as you know him Tony, is in his workshop on the 69th floor. Bruce Banner, the Hulk, is in his lab. "I was amazed that so many were awake. "Thank you JARVIS." "For you, always Miss Percy." Internally I was groaning at him adressing me aas a 'Miss' again, despite my wish. "What time is it?"
"It's exactly 4:38. " That wasn't bad, I had slept a total of 4 hours. Demigods were always happy if they could sleep at least 4 hours during a task. Sitting in my bed, thinking about the last few days, a thought crossed my mind. "JARVIS, who's Fury?"
"Director Fury is the head of an organization called SHIELD. They deal with many dangers in the world. Expecially dangers including superhumans, aliens or other phenomens no other government is responsible for." I nodded slowly. SO I had to be extra cautionous. But what was I supposed to do now? Growing bored I decided to get up and take a shower. Normally I avoided looking into mirror, but this time I did. I saw my body covered with scars. Many scars came from my last fight and were not completely healed, others came from the rest of my life as a demigod. Nobody had seen my body like that before. Even David didn't know about all my scars, he insisted on killing everyone,who hurt me. I refused to bourden  him too much and I wanted to spend time with him and that would be rather hard, iwhen he wa s out killing monsters that hurt me.

 I shook my head and got dressed. I looked at my shield clock and saw that it was already 5:30. I didn't feel tired anymore and left my room. In the living room I met Natasha and Clint who nodded to greet me. I smiled and sat down next to Clint. I grabbed an apple and ate it. "What was that dream about last night?" Asked Natasha. It was clear that my hope, that they had forgotten about the little incident, had not come true. I swallowed slightly and looked at her. "It wasn't a beautiful dream, sometimes I have to relive things from my past in my dreams. I don't like to talk about it." She only nodded understandingly and continued to eat her bread. Somehow I didn't like the silence. "What are you doing today?"
"A friend of ours will come in the course of the day, we are waiting for him. "I nodded and turned back to my apple. "Is that all you eat?" Asked Clint surprised. "You can also make pancakes or cook an egg, if you want to."
"I know, but I'm not hungry". Now all the rest of the Avengers came into the living room. "Guys, it's almost time, he'll be here soon!" exclaimed Tony excitedly. "Who, all I know is a friend of yours is coming, but who is it?" "You'll find out soon enough, little one". Tony said, winking at me. "My girlfriend Pepper will also arrive soon. Then Natasha and you will have a little female support". Suddenly, there was a thunder rumbling and then a tube came down from the sky to the earth. Surprised, I looked up, what was that? Steps were heard, and shortly after a blond man I knew all too well came around the corner. "Thor", I shouted and jumped up and jumped into his arms.
"Percy, is that you?" Thor roared, I covered my ears. He had a pretty loud organ anyway and if he decided to speak up then a horde of elephants would have been quieter. Thor picked me up and whirled me around in a circle. "The one and only." I laughed quietly as he hugged me. "Oh Gods, I've missed you!" I muttered into his chest. "So you haven't lost your muscles since the last time we saw each other. " I said and pinched him slightly in the arm. "You don't seem to have lost your sense of humor either. Tell me, how is Lord David?"
"He went to my uncle, along with many others. "I answered him in a sad voice, whereupon he hugged me even more firmly. "So it's true what Heimdall said about the war?" "Unfortunately, yes. " He looked at me with sorrow in his eyes. "I'm sorry, Percy. " Suddenly Bruce cleared himself. "How do you guys know each other?" "Well, she visited  me in- " Started Thor, but I interrupted him quickly. "I visited him in a store, where he had to sell some stuff a few years ago." He looked at me confused and I gave him a warning look. "Yes, that's right, Lady Percy and I met while shopping." He laughed quietly. Now the others looked at us confused. "Thor, I didn't know,that you had been working as a Seller." Tony raised an eyebrow. Thor rubbed  his neck, looking down on the floor. "Well...It's a long story." "Well, anyway, Percy, I'm going to have to do a check-up with you, since you were last examined when you were 12. " Said Bruce into the silence. I looked at him in horror. Never!
