HAPPY NEW YEAR!
~
"Pyarmëila."
The brown eyed girl stared at the flower, it looked like a rose, except it was made of lava, blossoming lava if she stared long enough, and hot as well, tears filled her eyes as she looked."It looks beautiful."
"Beautiful?" Hades asked, slight amusement in his voice."It is fire, it burns."
"And warms." The girl said, looking at him, her eyes shining brightly. "And it is different. Different is beautiful."
He did not reply to that, staring at her like she was a new creature, something he could not really grasp.
"How does it grow?" She asked now, turning back to it. "There is no light here."
"I sing to it."
She turned now, slight laughter in her voice as she spoke, "Will you teach me?"
"In due time, dear Child."

Leonidas woke up more peacefully than he had in five years, his eyes blinking at the ceiling, swirls and dots connecting for the minutes he laid before he sat up, a terrible headache pounding in his head as he saw the figure next to him on the bed.
Loukas was never a proper sleeper, hands and legs everywhere he could reach, hair ruffled and lips slightly open yet looking poised through it.
A part of him wanted to brush his friends hair and wipe out the slight drool on his red lips but he fought the urge, staring at the scrolls on the bed as another low groan came out of his lips, realizing that he had an impromptu party coming up.
He heard Kleopatra hiss from somewhere on the window, her fur all up as she sent death glares to Loukas, angry he had taken her space.
Leonidas smiled, getting out of his bed as he moved to the feline and whispered, "He did not mean to."
She looked at her owner, her blue eyes rolling back as if she was trying to tell him that she did not care if he meant to or not, all she wanted was his face clawed with her nails.
He smiled now, understanding the message as he got her into his arms before she purred, happy that her little plan for attention had worked while he chuckled, patting her head before the door to his room opened and his Caretaker walked in.
His eyes fell on the form on his bed, before turning back to Leonidas, clearing his throat. "Good morning, my Lord."
"Hello." Leonidas said softly.
"How is the preparation for your birthday party going?" He asked.
He could hear the silent words that his Caretaker would not dare say to his face.
Something close to 'You boys slept instead of preparing for this, I am ashamed of you both.'
Leonidas chuckled, "I am not a party planner, do not put me at fault if I decided to take a short break for two hours and woke up the next morning."
"No one blames you."
"Not with that tone, they don't."
Slowly setting his cat down, the little thing meowing at the gesture and staring up at him as if slightly betrayed by his easiness to get rid of her, he said, "Is breakfast ready yet?"
"It was two hours ago."
"Two hours -," Leonidas let out another sigh, rubbing his head. "Why did you not wake us up?"
