This is a cordial invitation from Castle Laskaris, inviting Persephone Diamandis to a teaparty that would be hosted by Stylani Laskaris three days from now.
We hope that you are able to honour the invitation.

"You cannot seriously be thinking of going," Hades said as Persephone sat on a stool infront of her vanity mirror, her face bland.

"Honestly godfather, I am trying not to give it too much thought. I am just going with my instincts," She replied then turned to her right. "Cleon, would you give that small chest there? Yes, that, thank you."

Hades who still had his unreadable expression attached on his face, could not control the angry vein pumping on his forehead. "And you keep humoring her."

Cleon handed over the box to Persephone as he stood behind her, "It is not like I could stop her, my Lord. You know how she gets when she wants something."

Hades scoffed. "You spoiled her."

"You raised me as well," Persephone chipped in.

"I was the one who made you half rotten," Hades returned. "Yes, you are welcome."

"I heard a rumour that Lady Stylani decided to wear black, and a touch of pink for this event," Cleon said.

"What?" Hades and Persephone chorused at once, turning around to face him.

Cleon flushed from the intent stares they were giving him. "I-I might be wrong. Gossip tends to shift into another image when it moves from one slave to another."

"I feel insulted," Hades said.

Persephone held his hand. "I understand exactly how you feel," Then she turned back to the mirror. "More reasons I must go there."

"You do not even like tea parties,"

"But I like tea," Persephone replied. "And maybe, just maybe, I might make a friend there. Do not look so surprised? I am a female. I would like to gossip with another gender of mine for once, thank you."

"This is not a time to make such silly jokes," Hades snapped, his eyes now in slants. "I will not let you go anywhere."

She chuckled, then faced him, pausing at the look in his eyes. "By the gods, you really are serious about the whole thing."

"My Lord, if I-"

"No, Cleon, you may not," Hades snapped. "She is my goddaughter which makes her my responsibility, not yours."

It was the first time Persephone heard such a tone being used by her godfather to Cleon. They had always been on such good terms for as long as she could remember.

Persephone watched Cleon purse his lips together, his hands gripping the head of her chair tightly as his knuckles turning white before he said, "She might be your goddaughter but I have always loved her as my daughter and I know that I can never have children, but Persephone has been like my own. Ever since she was thirteen, the bright happy child I raised was gone and I had to stare at her suffer silently. Now, she is happy again, deciding to even try talking with other people and you want to stop that? I know you love her the way I do, maybe even more, but I know that you also want her happy too, and if this is what would make her happy, then I believe you would do what is right for her." Then with a curt bow, he excused himself and left the Cabin.
