She could see him standing right there at the other side of the road but he was distracted because he had a crowd around him and he was smiling.

Smiling the way he smiled at her when they were together.

She looked around, hoping she would see a familiar face but the people who passed only sneered at her, their words cutting her sharply at the sides.

Pharmakis.

Witch.

Her eyes frantically searched everywhere for someone but when she realized all she had left was him, she decided to call out to him. "Leonidas!"

But he did not turn.

Her heartbeat rose immediately, the fear that he could not hear her, or perhaps, was ignoring on purpose struck a determined need to reach him.

Her legs took her first before her mind could process the information.

She ran as fast as she could, screaming his name along the way but all of a sudden, the ground beneath her sunk and she was going below.

She could feel the hands clawing her feet, dragging her back to where she had escaped from.

Dragging her back to Tartarus.

"Leonidas!'

Her voice cracked and tears fell heavily from her face but he did not turn to help her.

She tried screaming one more time but she was already too deep, the earth around her now in her mouth and clogging her breath.

I can't breathe!

I can't breathe!

Persephone shut up from the bed in a jolt before letting out a cry of pain as she felt thousands of needles prick at her back before warm hands held her gently.

"You should lay back down,"

The voice was not familiar but it sounded motherly, caring and made Persephone do as she asked.

The hand pushed her back down till she was lying on her back now, staring at the ceiling of her room.

Every breath she took hurt her throat and lungs but she tried to focus on something else that was not pain.

And then her eyes widened.

"Achilles-"

"He is not here, Child," The Motherly voice cut in again making Persephone turn to look at her more.

"Who are you?" Persephone's voice was raspy and though she barely had any energy left but she could feel the energy radiating from the woman enough which meant that she was someone powerful, or something of high power.

"Demeter," The woman replied with a disarming smile before pointing to Persephone's other side of the bed. "I am sure you remember Fani,"

She turned now, seeing the perky girl wave at her cheerily then hand her a glass of water which Persephone gratefully took, the liquid burning the fire in her throat. "I did not know what to do else to do. You were bleeding too much so I called Mother."

"No goddess is safe right now," Persephone snapped, surprised at the hostility of her words even though such force in her voice hurt her.

Demeter made a face that did not suit her friendly aura very much as she said, "For some reason, Hades is the only god that everyone is hiding under so me being here assures my safety."
