Chapter 17

(Chapter 17 presented to you by my bad grades even though it's a new semester)

Camilo's pov

I had sat up and wrapped my arms around y/n,after hearing her scream. "Hermosa are you ok? What happened" i asked she started crying she turned to me and i smiled sadly at her i don't think she noticed but a short second later she hugged me her arms wrapped around my back her face panting on my chest as her soft sniffles could be heard i patted her long soft hair hoping it would help calm her "shh, Mi amor, its ok'' i said my voice trying to be as gentle as possible, her sobs broke my heart "Mi amor, did you have a bad dream?" i asked and she nodded into my chest i frowned my hand stopped patting her head and moved to her back island i gave her a tight hug "its ok, i'm here now" i said my voice gentle but stern to remind her that this part wasn't a dream "Camilo im scared" her voice was shaky and disoriented i frowned and pulled out of the hug and lifted her chin up with my index finger and thumb her eyes full of tears as she let me go "there is nothing to be afraid of, mi amor, i'm right here" i said kissing her lips delicately than pulling away "camilo, you werent there when i needed you" her voiced rang through my head and i frowned "i don't really know how to apologize" i said she looked at me and than down "you couldn't do anything and i know that but i couldn't stand up to him" she said suddenly i realized what this was about "was your dream about abuelo hurting you" i asked a calm anger filled my voice and she nodded "he chased me from my aunt and uncle's farm to my home and i got trapped in the kitchen, i tried to defend myself but he didn't leave" she said her voice sounded like she was in pain and i couldn't blame her she's been through so much and hasn't gotten a break.

I looked at her and grabbed her hand holding it tightly in mine, I looked at her and smiled "he can't hurt you here" I said I cupped her cheek in the other hand wiping her eyes as she sniffled and suddenly dolores and my mom walked in "Are you guys ok?" my mom said walking up the small orange stairs and sat at the top one with dolores "yeah Mama we're ok" I said and y/n looked at me than at pepa "what happened sweetheart?" she said motioning to y/n to come and give her a hug she looked at me and i smiled letting her go, she scooted away from me and towards pepa and dolores. Dolores looked at me and i smiled, she looked sad i knew she heard about the dream and told Mama "you abuelo can't hurt you here amor" Mama said and i smiled and she made little circles on her back and i looked at dolores " I wanna go home and check on lee, i've been gone too long" she said my heart kinda broke but when she turned to me "can you take me home?" she asked i smiled and nodded

It was a couple minutes later and y/n had calmed down to start to get some stuff together she looked at me and nodded i opened the door of my room for her, she smiled as she left my room and i slowly followed her and closed the door behind me "thank you Camilo'' she said looking at mei looked back at her "for what Mi Amor?" i asked and she looked at me with a smile "walking me home" she said i smiled immediately "of course hermosa, dont want some good looking boy to take my girl" i said in a flirtatious way a blush krept its way on her face which made me smile i gave her a wink and she blushed more i walked up to her i was going to whisper something in her ear but before i could she kissed me it was my turn to blush "I did it!" she said happily "did what amor?" i asked "i made you blush" she said smiling and i laughed softly "hey.. What are you laughing abou?" she asked her voice got low "oh no Mi amor, i'm laughing because it's cute you think you don't make me blush" i said cupping her cheek in my right and and brushing her face with my thumb

She smiled and i let go of her face "alright let's go see lee" i said her face brightened "yep!" she said happily before i could react she grabbed my hand holding it tight and i blushed and smiled "Eres tan hermosa, amor" i said in spanish cause i knew she couldn't understand she looked back at me "what?" she said i looked at her and smiled "nothing" i said back her eyes landed on mine with a suspicious look and i smiled nervously but she had brushed it off as we walked down the stairs and looking around Casita, Mirabel still nowhere to be found. I frowned. I hope they find her soon. "I know where she is" y/n said looking at me "you do?" i asked anxious to know "She's in Isabella's room" she said and i felt my body relax and i sighed as we reached the door i opened it letting her leave the house, i followed closely before i could close the door Casita had done it for me and i smiled and waved "hurry up Camilo" y/n said i hadn't realized i was just standing at the door i rushed forward and grabbed her hand suddenly my gift glitched and i switched into a tiny child i looked up at y/n and she smiled before i quickly switched back "that was scary" i said pulling my arm up and rubbing the back of my neck and she laughed "it was quite entertaining" she said and i smiled "yeah ok we'll go with that amor" i said kissing her lips and she returned it i smiled and pulled away "You're amazing y/n Liyne" i said poking her collar bone "despite not having a gift like me" i said cockyness filling my voice and she laughed "i don't need a gift to be special and neither do you" she said i looked at her shocked i was at a loss for words "has no one ever told you that Camilo?" she asked "no, no one has ever told me that, the village is codependent on my abilities" i said and she smiled cupping my face in her hand "well your special gift or no gift" she said kissing my cheek
